00:00Tough scene for Lakers Nation out there after that loss yesterday to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-96.
00:06It's Donnie Wright's side, it's Joe Ranieri talking a lot of fallout here in those situations.
00:10And the questions certainly are going to come.
00:12And particularly, we need answers from LeBron James.
00:15So let's take a minute to listen in to what LeBron James had to say after the loss last night.
00:20Um, I don't know. I don't have the answer to that.
00:24But something I sit down with my family, my wife, and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens.
00:33And then just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play.
00:44I don't know the answer to that right now, to be honest.
00:47So, we'll see.
00:51Questions in the moment, Joe.
00:52You get a little bit emotional, and he's certainly having an introspect into what is going to take place in the offseason.
00:57But let me ask you this question first.
00:59Did we see the last of LeBron James, or heck no, he loves to play basketball too much, and he's 100% back next year?
01:06I certainly hope we don't see him again.
01:10I hope that the Lakers traded for Donchick in hopes of moving on from LeBron James.
01:17They didn't want to hand the keys to Anthony Davis in his 30s, right?
01:22I get the whole Donchick thing, but it does.
01:25Listen, anybody that has watched LeBron his entire career cannot tell me, watching him in this series, you think there's anything left in the tank?
01:35And what do you have left to accomplish?
01:38Like, why would you want to come back and be a shell of yourself?
01:41Rather retire a year early than a year late, right?
01:45Wasn't that the motto of a famous head coach?
01:48Coach, you got to move on here, LeBron.
01:50You got an entire life waiting for you outside of the NBA.
01:54That game and that series just showed me it's time, man.
01:58Move on.
01:59Yeah.
02:00It'll be interesting to see where they go from here, because I know LeBron James likes to play basketball.
02:05It's a spotlight.
02:05He's done it his whole life.
02:06Yes, he can retire with all the money in the world.
02:09I do think he's coming back, but I don't know if it's going to be with the Los Angeles Lakers or where he can go and what that might be.
02:14But he also said a few things in that post-game presser last night, which I always get a kick out of.
02:19Like, LeBron James, you know, throughout his basketball career, multiple championships.
02:24There's always a fight between Jordan and LeBron, who's the best of all time.
02:27You look at the statistics for LeBron James.
02:29He basically has, like, every stat imaginable that are his and being the best of all time.
02:34But when they ask him a question like, you know, your favorite basketball moments here throughout your career, was it your first championship in Miami?
02:40Was it getting drafted number one overall?
02:42Was it making every all-star team or just being a superstar athlete in the NBA?
02:46It was no.
02:47I got to play with my son, Bronny, which, again, is not really an achievement when you placed him on that basketball team.
02:53Quite frankly, he could have had his daughter on the basketball team with the Lakers, and they would have let that happen here at this point.
02:58So for him to say right away, like, you know what?
03:00Had a lot of great moments, but playing with my son was the best of it.
03:03It's like, come on, LeBron.
03:04Let's get real at this point.
03:05Yeah, and listen, I mean, it's obviously, it was a goal of his.
03:11He got it, no matter, you know, nepotism alive and well within the Lakers organization.
03:16But the reality is here, Donnie, you got that, right?
03:21And it didn't work out.
03:23Let's be realistic.
03:24And quite honestly, at this point, if I'm the Lakers, I'm like, I'm hoping that he takes a step back and maybe moves to a front office role or something along those lines because he didn't do them any favors.
03:38LeBron had multiple opportunities in that game last night to take control of it.
03:45And instead of taking it to the hoop or, you know, a wide open three, he just kept passing the ball, Donnie.
03:52He didn't want anything to do with it, and it showed last night.
03:57So I think, you know, it's time to hang it up, man.
04:00It really is.
04:01He's a shell of what he was in his prime, for sure.
