03:34in California. There was a Earthquake which was in the same way. And here
03:41New Jersey and New York, we are talking about the world in India, Japan,
03:47Philippines, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, Japan, and all of
03:51the world. And Allah has all the good and good and good. And Allah has all

05:26And if you feel an aftershock, drop to the floor, cover your head and neck, and take cover
05:32under a solid piece of furniture next to an interior wall or in a doorway.
05:39So I want to thank the emergency staff and first responders for the road to keep New York
05:44safe.
05:46Earthquakes don't happen every day in New York.
05:49So this can be extremely traumatic, the number of texts, calls, and inquiries that people
05:55sent out to not only our administration but to family members checking on them.
06:01We know how this can impact you.
06:03But we're ready for the unexpected.
06:05This is New York City.
06:06We'll respond accordingly.
06:07We will continue to update New Yorkers as we get more information.
06:12I will now turn it over to Commissioner Iskell.
06:45Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs Commissioner, Manny Castro, Housing Preservation and Development
06:52Commissioner, Adolfo Carrion, Mayor's Office of Community Affairs Commissioner, Fred Kreisman,
06:57New York City Health and Hospital Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer, Dr.
07:01Eric Way, NYCHA Executive VP of Operations Support Services, Keith Grossman, NTA CEO, Jenna
07:07Leber, Covenant President, Mouch Ketchy.
07:10So first I'd like to introduce Mayor Adams.
07:14Thank you so much, Dean Levy, and I'm sure there are many questions that need to be answered.
07:22All of us felt in some way or another the earthquake that hit our city around 10.23 a.m.
07:33We felt the impact of this 4.7 magnitude earthquake.
07:39The epicenter was in Lebanon, New Jersey, about 50 miles from New York City.
07:44And as you know, this is a developing situation where you're always concerned about aftershocks
07:51after the earthquake.
07:53The New Yorkers should go about their normal day.
07:57First responders are working to make sure the city is safe.
08:00And one thing we do so well in our city is bring together all of the agencies that are involved
08:08and our partners and other entities.
08:10Everything from the NTA to the Department of Builders, the parents who are concerned about
08:18their schoolchildren, Chancellor Banks, will be here to report on that.
08:24But we say over and over again, the safest place for our students, we believe, will continue
08:30to be in school.
08:31At this point, we do not have any reports of major impacts to our infrastructure or injuries.
