Tens of thousands of people took part in May Day rallies across Europe

Rallies and demonstrations were organised across multiple major European cities on Thursday to commemorate Labour Day, calling for higher pay, greater equality and the protection of workers' rights.

00:00Tens of thousands of people participated in rallies and demonstrations to mark May Day across Europe.
00:07The holiday, also referred to as Labor Day or International Workers' Day,
00:12is celebrated in more than 160 countries globally to mark the struggles and achievements of workers in the labor movement.
00:19In France, more than 10,000 people marched in the streets of the capital Paris.
00:25Scuffles broke out with police after black-clad protesters clashed with Socialist Party members.
00:31Protests also took place in Marseille and other cities calling for the stronger protection of workers' rates, higher pay and greater equality.
00:40In Spain, parallel demonstrations were staged in Madrid by traditional workers' unions and that of the far-right Vox party, Solidaridad.
00:49Protesters criticized the government over work and pay conditions.

01:01And in Athens, thousands of workers convened to mark the occasion.
01:06Several workers in trade unions staged a rally outside the parliament building, waving flags and chanting anti-government slogans.

01:21the workers took place for the 8th hour, the conditions of work and so on.
01:28Protesters in Greece highlighted the importance of workers uniting together
01:32to stand against what they called the might of capitalists, imperialism, and corporate greed.
