Pattingham sits between Bridgnorth and Wolverhampton and is a loveley little village with decent pubs, some good shops so you can get all you need and nice countryside walks too.

00:16been here for more than these 40 years the pub has got a new landlord so we're
00:20gonna talk to them as well talk to some of the residents seeing just why they
00:23love living in the area Pattingham is one of those areas where people do come
00:27in from outside to come in they come see the village they come into one of the
00:30many walks of cycling routes in the area so yeah we're gonna talk to the
00:33residents we're gonna talk to these shoppers we're gonna talk to the
00:35shopkeepers landlords see what they like especially love about Pattingham. So here
00:40Evangeline and Tracy who are both residents area so if you could pick out one thing
00:43each ladies what do you reckon the best thing about Pattingham is? You were saying London weren't you?
00:47No I was saying it's peaceful here because I was living in London for the past 30 odd years and when I came here I found it was very peaceful very calm
00:56and the air is great because London is very polluted it's very fresh and nice

01:05I think that it's local to a lot of lovely walks and a lot of lovely countryside and you don't feel like you're too close to a major city
01:15so it's really nice to just be able to escape and it feels like that doesn't it?

01:21It feels like we live in a place where you can escape to some calmness as you said there's some tranquility and that's the nicest part of that
01:28Absolutely it's gotta be nice living in a place where people usually come to to escape from where they are

01:40We have Sally and Ella on the lovely Pattingham Park so yeah what do you think what do you think of the area because you you used to did you say you used to live here
01:46We live just outside of the village now we used to live in the village for five years and then we've moved to
01:53some cottages there but we just love it absolutely it's like our little home everybody's friendly
01:59it's a beautiful place to live and just could never move from the from the village

02:19Fantastic community beautiful history with it absolutely amazing place
02:28and even the kids like going there so yeah it's a really good community and they
02:34do lots of things with the kids and it is just nice you know fabulous well attended
02:40erm you know they're just having a new vicar soon so so that's good
02:44That's it that's fantastic yeah what do you think can we say about that community because you've only got like so far
02:48like you've only got the small row of shops there but it seems like obviously one of them's been there for more than 40 years
02:53yeah yeah absolutely it seems like a very very community driven area this place it is
02:58it is yeah I mean everybody is you know so friendly and lovely and I mean you've got the pubs
03:04so that's really lovely too and they're you know really well beautiful well attended and lovely food
03:10so yeah there is a lot going for it so we do we do mainly having this park as well I mean it's just amazing
03:18and then you've got the Minnellian walk around Patsall you know there's just so much going on
03:24So we're here in Pattingham with Beretta Kenneth-Clynes which we've got to talk to Mr. Kenneth himself Mr. Clyde himself
03:29obviously this place is an establishment it's been here for 40 42 43 years 42 years 43 years so long
03:37long stay in the area there obviously absolutely absolute name for the place I mean fully enjoyable
03:42fully enjoyable what's it like what's it like owning a business in the uh in the village very good
03:46I guess it's absolutely lovely lovely place I've never been here before so lots of good greenery around
03:51can imagine lots of good walks as well oh yeah there's eight fantastic what's the uh what's the client
03:55what's the what's your clientele like I mean what can you say about your customers only good things
03:58obviously yeah well they come from all over the place and they're very loyal absolutely so um
04:03sort of what's it like to because you live uh you don't you don't live do you live in Pattingham
04:06no I live just outside just outside of Pattingham I mean what's it what's it like to live so
04:10near to somewhere that's got so much green space around it after 43 years nice nice if you can pick
04:19out sort of one thing that makes a place special makes a place good I suspect most people will have
04:25be happy with the people the people yeah so we have a mic mic you just want to introduce yourself
04:29what we're standing outside of here yeah my name is mike little and I'm the new licensee of the
04:34pig at arms here in Pattingham fantastic so yeah obviously we're in Pattingham we're talking to uh
04:40talking to all the people that we can grab mike's obviously said he's come on to come on to camera for
04:43us so what's it like going in oh in the pub in Pattingham what's the uh what's the highlights the
04:47highlights it's a beautiful village um in a beautiful surroundings everybody's lovely there
04:54it's a very close-knit community um two pubs in the village and a club uh plenty for everybody
05:01fantastic do you get a lot of visitors out of Pattingham coming down they do yeah there's a lot
05:06of people we have a lot of um bike rides because of the countryside where we are there's a lot of
05:11walkers there are cyclists there are dog walkers so yeah it's a lot of passengers that's fantastic
05:16you could pick one thing one thing that you think stands out of the area what do you reckon it'd be

05:27that's your pub but yeah i recommend people to come down absolutely absolutely yeah we've got such
05:32an array of things to do yeah we really have as i say you've got you've got the crown you've got the
05:37club and you've got the picketops all fantastic beers you've got i think we just about cover every
05:42beer that you can think of so between us we've got everything covered that's i see you get some
05:46good food as well do you have events on in here like yeah we have events we've got an upstairs it's
05:50all been refurbished upstairs um which was hasn't been used for sort of 15 18 years we had 120 people
05:56in there on new year's eve yeah we've got a lot of bands coming in um so yeah we are going to push the
06:01music scene here a little bit that's fantastic and what can we say about the community do you reckon
06:05because there's a lovely row of shops down there they all seem pretty close-knit everybody's close
06:09there as i say that you can get anything anything that you want from this village it's here it's here
06:13you know we've got a nice co-op there you can get all your groceries from everything you've got
06:18clothes shops you've got everything you've got a tailor in how many how many villages have
06:21got tailors there's not many of those about anymore that's fantastic perfect thank you very much
