00:00Hello friends, welcome to Shimonology 2229. Happy Friday.
00:07I'm still unemployed. So this is Friday morning.
00:15But I ended up applying for unemployment insurance for the first time in my life.
00:25I have not done it in the past. So yeah, I guess trying something new, I guess. Sure, sure.
00:33Unemployment insurance is not much money, okay? It's like at most $1,000 per month.
00:42At most. The $1,000 per month or less. Okay, so it's... but it helps. Okay, yeah.
00:49The requirement... per week. Two applications. That's very reasonable.
00:59I already applied for two jobs, okay? Yeah. Two lawyer jobs, I already applied for.
01:05So, yeah, yeah. So, yeah. That's the requirement, okay? Yeah.
01:11Yeah. Two job applications per week. That's reasonable. Okay. Yeah. Nice. Okay. Yeah.
01:19Okay. Okay. So let's do some... I did go outside... this is like 9 a.m. right now.
01:27Friday. Happy Friday. I did run around the neighborhood. And also I... you know that external... external...
01:40garage unit. Which collapsed like two years ago because of a lot of snow.
01:48Yeah. I'm recycling the material to rebuild the roof of the external shed. Storage unit. Okay.
01:57But the... it was... there were four... metallic... stakes... to bind down... to ground that... external garage.
02:13And... I pulled out three of them, okay? And one of them... there are four of them. I pulled out three of them.
02:21One of them is... still on... on the ground because... I think that part of the ground is still frozen.
02:29It would not budge. So I'll wait maybe a couple more weeks until the... ground totally melts and thaw.
02:37Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Let's do the... uh... stretching.
02:50All right. Yeah. I'm cooking my breakfast.
02:54It's frozen skin grass. And the fish is... frozen fish name... whiting. Okay. Yes. Ocean fish.
03:12Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Some of that... water and... frozen corn kernels. And... um...
03:23Uh... vegetables. Okay. Or cooking the plastic jar. Microwaves. Water bowls. Okay. Yeah.
03:31All right.
03:33So here for you...
03:47Yeah.
03:56What?
07:57Sure.
07:59It's more like stretching extension.
13:26Let me change that water.
13:28Let me change that water.
13:56Let me change that water.
14:26Let me change that water.
14:56Let me change that water.
15:26Yeah, this is the bolts and nuts that I primarily use.
15:31I mean, the quarter-inch thick.
15:35Oh, different length.
15:37Okay, yeah, for the roofing project.
15:39Yeah, the show I show in Dailymotion these days, it's like video diaries.
16:00Okay, yeah, and I'm between jobs.
16:06I'm unemployed, so I'm like applying to jobs.
16:10So, yeah, let's take occasion and to educate the future generation, current generation about job sorts and stuff.
16:28Okay, good.
16:30Yeah, so when you're unemployed, it's like staycation, like stay-at-home vacation kind of.
16:36It's very important that you exercise, okay?
16:38And some routine activity, like exercise and yeah, okay.
16:43Yeah, as well as applying to jobs, but I mean, you can apply to so many jobs, right?
16:49You know, given locality.
16:53After that, it's waiting.
16:55Okay?
16:56While you wait, you don't have to sit there, do nothing, okay?
17:00Yeah, do something.
17:02Exercise, hobbies.
17:03All right, yeah, and these days at night, before I fall asleep, when I'm in my bed, lights off, I have my cell phone.
17:16Yeah, I read up a biography of actors, actresses, okay?
17:19Yeah, some movies I recently watched.
17:22And so, yes, last night I did watch Mr. Paul Fikes, the Ghostbusters reboot, that's like answer the call, whatever, okay?
17:37I did not like it.
17:39Okay, I mean, Mr. Paul Fikes is a very good director, good writer, producer.
17:432015, he made this TV series, TV show in Yahoo, online, web, internet.
17:51Other Space, I'm a huge fan of that series.
17:54It's very well written, very well directed, produced, okay?
17:57Great casting, directing, writing, sound effect, music, casting, acting is perfect.
18:07It's in YouTube for free, okay?
18:08Other Space.
18:11That's 2015, okay?
18:12Then 2016, Mr. Paul Fikes directed this movie, Ghostbusters reboot, or answer the call.
18:20So, it was not done well.
18:23So, it's like two hours long.
18:25I watched the first half, like one hour, and I stopped watching, and I'm not going to watch the rest.
18:31Because, so, yeah, I'm a filmmaker myself.
18:36Right now, it's being filmed.
18:39It's digital.
18:41In laptop camera.
18:43It's kind of like a movie, yeah, you can say this is a movie, sure.
18:51Low budget, sure.
18:53Or zero budget, sure, sure.
18:56Yeah, it was a solo zoom show, software, yeah.
18:59A lot of data motion.
19:01And before that, I mean, I made movies, I performed Metaphobia, it's in YouTube, too, okay?
19:06So, it's one hour and ten minutes long, okay?
19:10So, when it comes to bad movies, there are two categories.
19:16First, maybe this director, filmmaker, is too new to the area, so he or she does not know what he or she is doing, okay?
19:25For example, like, Eraserhead by David Lynch.
19:31Again, he's a great director, yeah, like, Mulholland Drive, one of my favorite movies, okay?
19:38But, Eraserhead, he made that movie when he was a brand new filmmaker.
19:44I did not like that movie at all.
19:47I did watch it in a movie theater, black and white, back in the 1990s, when I was in Korea, okay?
19:54None of the audience liked that movie.
19:59Okay, yeah, it was in a movie theater.
20:01After the movie was done, I heard other people saying, they came as a group.
20:07Me, I was a teenager, high school, middle school, okay?
20:10Other people, adults, probably in their early 30s, late 20s, okay?
20:15They came as a group, like five people.
20:18After Eraserhead, David Lynch, the movie was done.
20:23So, we're exiting, I went there alone, okay?
20:26But other group, okay, over five people, adults, in their mid-20s, early 30s, professional people who go to work.
20:37They are not, like, students, okay?
20:38Yeah.
20:38And, as they're exiting the movie theater, after the movie was done, one of the gentlemen said, between themselves, okay?
20:50Hey, uh, whose idea was this, to watch this movie together?
20:56None of the audience liked that movie, Eraserhead, okay?
21:02I didn't like it.
21:03It was boring.
21:05Also, Steven Spielberg movie, when he was, like, brand-new filmmaker, I do not know the name of that movie.
21:12It was a rural highway, some sedan car, regular sedan car, and a big truck, like a container truck, big trailer truck, okay?
21:30Kind of like they're, like, staring at each other, like, it's, like, it's an extreme boring movie.
21:35Yeah, Steven Spielberg made some interesting movies.
21:40He's a good director, like, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Extraterrestrial, E.T., but Steven Spielberg, his famous movies, they're always very, very, very boring parts.
21:59Very, very slow, boring parts, like Indiana Jones, E.T., Extraterrestrial, or, like, Jurassic Park.
22:09All those famous movies, Steven Spielberg, always have extremely boring parts.
22:15So, I'm sorry, Steven Spielberg, he's not one of my favorite directors.
22:20Okay?
22:20Because his movies always have very boring, long, slow parts that I just do not like.
22:28Okay?
22:29Okay, so, first category, when filmmakers are very new to the industry, bad movies.
22:41Second category, this filmmaker is about to retire.
22:48This filmmaker has made so many movies, so at the end of this filmmaking career, spammed.
22:55No more juice, no more creativity, no more energy, just getting old.
23:03Bad movies, okay?
23:04Yeah, I think that Mr. Paul Five's Ghostbusters will belong to the second category.
23:11Okay?
23:16Although he's a very good director.
23:18He made very many good movies, TV shows, okay?
23:21It happens, okay?
23:26Let's take five minutes, very vocalized, okay?
23:35Okay?
23:36Yeah?
23:38Yeah, just being objective, that's all.
23:41Okay?
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:42Okay.
23:43Okay.
23:43Okay.
23:43Okay.
23:44Okay.
23:44Okay.
23:44Okay.
23:45Okay.
23:45Okay.
23:45Okay.
23:46Okay.
23:46Okay.
23:47Okay.
23:47Okay.
23:48Okay.
23:48Okay.
23:49Okay.
23:50Okay.
24:19Okay.
27:50After employment, I'll be new to the job.
27:54So taking like one week vacation.
28:00About like, what?
28:01Three months after I got a brand new lawyer job.
28:04Is that possible?
28:05So I don't know, we'll see.
28:12Would I like to attend class reunion?
28:17Yeah.
28:18Yeah.
28:19Why?
28:21I've never been to any kind of class reunion in my life.
28:25So you'll be interested.
28:28Yeah.
28:31Yeah, say hello to low school professors and former classmates.
28:39Maybe many of them are married by now.
28:42And yeah, it'll be interesting.
28:52So I will attend if I can.
28:57If not, then I cannot.
29:00But there are other future reunion that happens every five years.
29:09Okay?
29:11Yeah.
29:12Class reunion.
29:12Sure.
29:14Maybe in the future.
29:16I don't know about this year.
29:17Okay.
29:18And so some low school memories.
29:28Sure.
29:29Yeah.
29:30Some parties.
29:31I remember it was something like a Halloween party.
29:35I guess, uh, what they are dressed up as.
29:40Okay.
29:41So low school, uh, student organization, they rented, uh, a dance club, downtown Ann Arbor,
29:51Michigan.
29:52Okay.
29:53They rented out the entire dance club.
29:56It's a multiple store dance club.
29:58Nice one.
29:59Okay.
30:00But they have underground, fourth level, second level, something like that.
30:04Okay.
30:05So that's nice one.
30:06Okay.
30:07Yeah.
30:08I went there and dressed up as a U.S. Army veteran, a classic uniform with all the medals
30:13and stuff.
30:14Yeah.
30:15It's nice.
30:23And some others, I remember, uh, there's this lady, I guess, female, I don't know, maybe
30:30they're friends.
30:31Uh, kind of a Christmas tree.
30:34Uh, lights, light bulbs, right?
30:39Everywhere.
30:40But it's battery power, so it's not dangerous.
30:43Maybe nine volt battery, whatever.
30:45Okay.
30:46So it's not high voltage, so it's safe.
30:48Okay.
30:49That was very cool.
30:50Very charming.
30:51Very charming.
30:52Very charming.
30:53Some others?
30:54Yeah.
30:55Dressed up as a princess.
30:58Other guys?
30:59Uh, some costume, like puppet.
31:03Okay.
31:04Okay.
31:05Like, sesame street style.
31:07Like donkey.
31:08Okay.
31:09Okay.
31:10And I met one gentleman, maybe friends of those students, or maybe, was it open to everybody?
31:20Maybe a little bit.
31:22Okay.
31:23Basically crashing party.
31:24Okay.
31:25Uh, from what I remember, he told me, uh, he's like special forces veteran.
31:29US Army veteran, okay?
31:30So we had a nice chat, okay?
31:31Because I'm the US Army veteran, too.
31:33Uh, special forces, I did try.
31:34But I dropped out, okay?
31:35That's nice.
31:36Yeah.

40:26so in the dance floor
40:28and um
40:30so in the dance floor
40:32my fellow rostons took it off of me and they would

40:48thank you
40:51i took the picture right that's enough okay because when i moved
40:56great after i graduated from annava regional law school
40:59when i
41:00moved from annava michigan to
41:03anchorage alaska
41:04i
41:09put everything that i have to the dumpster
41:13including
41:17panasonic camera
41:18dvx

41:46i had to move out
41:50but a couple of sunglasses a couple of Hawaiian t-shirts
41:54a couple of suit and tie i did bring with me to alaska okay
41:58yeah
42:02yeah
42:03to keep it simple
42:07maybe two cheptin luggages one carry-on backpack that was that
42:14that was 10 years ago
42:18yeah late may uh 2015 10 years ago
42:24yeah
42:32yeah
42:41no time check
42:42It's been less than one hour, okay.
42:57Yeah.
42:58Well, my breakfast is ready and I'm hungry, so that's pretty much what I have to say.
43:11And I continue to watch the Twilight Zone episode, okay.
43:19I mean, Mr. Director Pulfag is a fantastic director, it's just that he made many good movies,
43:24TV shows, okay.
43:25But Ghostbusters, I guess some people liked it.
43:30I didn't, okay, yeah, it was, I did not like the props, okay, it just looked too cheap.
43:41And the dancing scene is so unnecessary, so out of context, pointless, although there
43:47are good dancers, the actors, actresses, okay, it was done too lightly, it was not a serious
43:57production.
43:58A lot of famous cameo, but it did not save the movie, okay, it did not have good story.
44:07So, Mr. Pulfag is a very good writer, okay, you know what, maybe we'll do one more second
44:14movie after five minutes, okay, okay, we'll see that educational, learning from other people's
44:21mistakes, okay, sure.
44:22Fabulous, thank you.
44:26Fabulous, thank you so much.
44:27Fabulous, thank you.
44:30Fabulous, thank you.
44:31Well, you know that people妨 de Johnny De Paul, you have questions about YouTube,
44:40you feel very experimenting, you know what the hell is right?
46:17I mean, all female for Ghostbusters, that's fine.
46:21Female casting, I'm not against that at all.
46:24But it's just they don't have a good storyline, okay?
46:28And my guess is that 2015, Mr. Pulfai, he made this TV show, Out of Space, which is fantastic.
46:37It's one of my favorites, okay?
46:40And then, 2016, he took on this Ghostbusters reboot project.
46:46I guess he needed some break.
46:49It was too spent, too tired.
46:51I guess that's why he was not very well made.
46:56That would be my guess, okay?
46:58But I understand, Hollywood, okay, they have tight schedule.
47:03So, I guess he had to do it, okay?
47:10He did not have luxury to take one year of break.
47:12I understand that, okay?
47:15So, well, I guess some people liked it.
47:22Okay.
47:23About $100 million budget, they made about $200 million, other than advertisement cost, okay?
47:34So, they say, including advertisement cost, they lost about $50 million, okay?
47:40So, okay.
47:41It's just not a good storyline, okay?
47:44It's just not a serious production, okay?
47:50It's too frivolous.
47:52It's just pointless, okay?
47:55And some other bad movies, yeah, The Son of the Mask.
47:59Yeah, Jim Carrey movie, Mask, one, that's a good one.
48:04The second one, Son of the Mask, it was frivolous production.
48:09I watched maybe for 10 minutes or 10 minutes, then I could not continue to watch, okay?
48:22Some other bad movies I've watched, at least partially.
48:27Yeah, some film festivals.
48:29Some short films, some medium-length, some feature-length films, in some film festivals, that's so horrible.
48:39Some of them.
48:40Don't get me wrong, yeah, some film festivals, there's some good movies there.
48:45But some others, too painful to watch.
48:51How about my movie, Therapy for Metrophobia?
48:55Yeah, mixed review.
48:56Yeah, some say it's a bad movie, some others say it's a good movie.
49:00Mixed review.
49:02What do I think of that movie, Therapy for Metrophobia?
49:04Yeah, I think it's decent, to say the least, okay?
49:08All right, that's that.
49:22So, to make a good movie, well, you need to have a good story, okay?
49:29Yeah, that's prerequisite.
49:38Everything else is secondary, okay?
49:42To make a good movie, you need to have a good story, period.
49:47That's prerequisite, necessary condition.
49:49But even if you have a good story, that's not the end of the story, okay?
49:55You need to have good actors, actresses, good acting.
50:03Okay?
50:05But if story is bad, actors, actresses, no matter how good they are in acting,
50:14they cannot save the movie, it still is bad, okay?
50:23But if story is good, it can still become a bad movie
50:27if they don't hire good actors, actresses, okay?
50:38Okay?
50:39Yeah.
50:39But filmmakers, they can get better.
