സോളാർ ഇൻസ്റ്റലേഷൻ കമ്പനിയായ സൺ-വേയ്‌സിന്‍റെ സ്ഥാപകനായ ജോസഫ് സ്‌കുഡേരിയാണ് ഈ ആശയത്തിന് പിന്നിൽ. 2020 -ൽ ഒരു റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ ട്രെയിന്‍ കാത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോഴാണ് ഇത്തരത്തിൽ ഒരു ആശയം അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻറെ മനസ്സിൽ ഉദിച്ചത്. തുടർന്ന് ഇതിനാവശ്യമായ സാങ്കേതികവിദ്യ വികസിപ്പിച്ചെടുത്ത സൺ-വേയ്‌സ് ഫെഡറൽ ഓഫീസ് ഓഫ് ട്രാൻസ്‌പോർട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് അനുമതി നേടിയെടുക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഒരു വീടിന്‍റെ മേൽക്കൂരയിൽ സോളാർ പാനലുകൾ ഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ റെയിൽവേ പാളങ്ങളിൽ സോളാർ പാനലുകൾ ക്രമീകരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് പദ്ധതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ജോസഫ് സ്‌കുഡേരി വിശദമാക്കിയത്.
