05:44The Cardinals have written the name of the new Pope or the names of all the people
05:48that they have elected are burned after each vote.
05:53Then they are it's added with an additive a chemical additive they're put into a stove

06:11the ballots but that didn't always work and usually the smoke was gray so nobody really knew anything.

07:11In that room are three white cassocks papal robes in three different sizes essentially to be very simple small medium and large.
07:23So whoever gets elected can put on one of these it may not fit perfectly it might be too quick too small too short whatever but at least it's white.

09:05To say who's going to be elected Pope, there's a number of people who have emerged as favorites,
09:12more in the press than anywhere else.
09:16One is Cardinal Pietro Parodin, who is the Vatican Secretary of State.
09:22He's a very well-known entity.
09:25He's known by many, many people around the world.
09:29He has no pastoral experience, but he has a lot of administration experience.
09:43One of the other contenders is Cardinal Tagle of the Philippines.
09:47His personality is more like that of John Paul II or Francis,
09:53more of a kind of a spunky personality.
09:56He's a very lively person.
09:58He would be the first pope from what is now considered Asia.
10:13It is almost impossible that a new pope will be chosen on the first day,
10:17the first ballot on the first afternoon.
10:20What normally happens is that a lot of names are thrown out just to cast out there,
10:26just to sort of say as a sign of respect to people.
10:30Everybody knows that they're not going to be chosen as pope.
10:34So the real voting begins the next day, on the second day.
