03:14Just. Four. Guys.
03:33Three. Two. One.
03:44Three. Two. One.
03:49Today's semi-final, IWGP, Global Heavy-Q選手権,
03:56one-point-side.
03:59For the 51st time, Walker, 51 times as familiar
04:06with one another as the backs of each other's hands,
04:09was familiar to everyone else as the sun and the moon.
04:14When they came in at the same time,
04:16Yu Yu Uemura got his first win.
04:18Yodosuji got his first win.
04:20One would shine and then the other.
04:22And Yodosuji shined at his brightest
04:25when Yu Yu Uemura had his darkest day due to injury,
04:29and Suji became Global Champion.
04:31In the back corner, challenger, Just. Four. Guys.
04:37Heat Stone, Uemura Yu Yu.
04:42Now is my question for Yu Walker.
04:46Is Yodosuji shining on his own,
04:49or is he only reflecting the light and heat of Yu Yu Uemura?
04:53And do we have a total eclipse of Yodosuji here in Fukuka?
04:58That is the question to answer tonight.
05:28Look.
05:29Let's jump in at his tinha yes to come
05:31like this cycle,
05:32and I'll see you in the second of the week.
05:33It's far as you get the chance in it,
05:34in the first half,
05:35you Assassin's Creed of the Days of Ursula.
05:36Keep it up.
05:37Let's go.
05:37Let's take a look here tonight.
05:38Let's watch it.
05:52Let's talk to Cryptziobus Council.
05:54Let's talk to Colea,
05:55let's leave features.
05:56So first that's your horn,
05:57that Yotosuji has accomplished,
06:00it has indeed, Chris, been in the absence of one
06:03Yuya Uemura.
06:04And you talk about light reflecting off of these two men
06:08and onto one another.
06:09It was the light of Yuya Uemura that showed out,
06:12that was knocked out in G1 Climax
06:14and showed out in the finals of G1 Climax
06:17and making it into such the deadbolt suplex
06:20that we have seen from Yotosuji in the G1
06:23leading to a very tight race and close success.
06:26These two men have mirrored each other from the beginning.
06:30Time limit draw after time limit draw, 22 times over.
06:35These two men have not been able to outclass one another,
06:38but tonight they are forced to set the other apart
06:41and top the pack as IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion.
06:46I gotta tell ya, Chris,
06:48Yotosuji has been making waves
06:50as Global Heavyweight Champion just the way
06:53we saw the very first title holder do with it,
06:55that'd be indignant.
06:57Absolutely Yotosuji, a true superstar,
07:01but Suji needs Yuya Uemura just like the moon does need the sun.
07:05in the Bluebird Cup,
07:07who is also the largest champion of G1 Climax
07:08of the Realmen Reżee Survivor.
07:10IwGP Global Heavyweight Champion
07:11in the Bluebird Championship
07:12and the Bluebird Champion,
07:12the first liner of the EWGP.
07:14In the Bluebird drop,
07:15the fourth name of the IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion,
07:17G1 Climax Superhero 2nd,
07:18IWGP, Global Heavy-Q Champion,
07:23Los Itmo, Veldan Preste Habon,
07:27Jean Blaston, Tsuji Yota!
07:33Two years ago to the day,
07:36Morgan Stewart, Yoda, Tsuji came back from excursion,
07:41headed into ringside,
07:43speared Sonata right out of his boots
07:46and made a definitive statement.
07:49And for two years here in New Japan,
07:52we've been talking about the NEXT,
07:54we've been talking about the REIWA 3 Musketeers.
07:58What's coming down the pipe?
08:00No, the NEXT isn't the NEXT,
08:03it's not the NEXT generation,
08:04it's now, it's these two, it is them.
08:08And they aim to prove that in the coming moments.
08:16It is a night of generations to represent,
08:26from Cal Newman in the main event tonight against Roki Goto,
08:29to these two men in Arsema.
08:32They're great, right, Walker?
08:37I mean, just in that,
08:38the last three matches on this card,
08:40to say farewell to Tetsuya Naito and Bushi,
08:43the past, to hear now the present,
08:46in our main event,
08:47Cal Newman challenging in the future.
08:50And no time like the present.
08:56And in the present, we come to talk about the past one more time.
09:07It was the first time that these two men
09:09had ever stepped into singles competition in the public eye,
09:12actually kicking off on the road to wrestling Dantaku in 2018.
09:16And it was one of 22 time limit draws that we had seen between these two.
09:21I mean, can you talk to me in a little bit about Noge Dojo generational rivals
09:25in these time limit situations?
09:27Yo and Sho having had that experience just the same.
09:29Yes, they did, yeah.
09:30And so did, you know, I mean, recently,
09:32we talked about Shama Kata and Kata Marashima.
09:35But, you know, I mean, Nagai and Yasu as well.
09:41You know, I think that you're tied together forever.
09:44And you're tied together even closer.
09:46And you can put Gabe Kidd into that mix as well.
09:49When their development...
09:52They were always, you know, pretty much right from the get-go.
09:55We could see that these were incredible talents.
09:58They were gonna be superstars.
09:59But right as they were on that brink,
10:02here came the pandemic.
10:04And they were kind of forced by circumstance not to be able to go on excursions.
10:08To have to remain in the Young Lions system.
10:13And I think a key defining moment in their rivalry,
10:17as well as that with Gabe Kidd, was that G1 Climax Series in 2020.
10:21And that unofficial C-block of that tournament
10:25that was just as, if not more, competitive
10:28than any of the tournament matches that year.
10:31And Yodosuji came up on top of that one.
10:34One way in a sort of home away from home from Yuya Urumura.
10:40It's got family here in the Pokoka area.
10:43Does an awful lot of work with charities in the area, local schools.
10:46And yet perhaps ticks him off a little bit that there are more chance for Yodosuji in the opening moments than for Yuya.
10:56Tsuji, meanwhile, has never won a singles match here in Pokoka.
11:010-2.
11:03Recent losses to David Finley last year at Don Taku.
11:07And then Hiroki Goto during the G1 Climax.
11:11And as we come back into the lockup here, I want to talk a little bit about the two most pivotal matches
11:17that these two have had in their time against one another.
11:20It was February 24th of last year.
11:23New beginning in Saputo.
11:24Hair versus hair action that we saw right off the bat of the Tokyo Dome match they had at Wrestle Kingdom 18.
11:30And it was that match where Yuya Urumura in loss would lose his hair, but find something even greater.
11:36This identity as the heat storm.
11:38Well, I feel that, you know, when they were trading draws back and forth and trading wins back and forth as Young Lions,
11:45it was this idea of light meets light.
11:48And you could say that the sun as brighter as it would shine, Tsuji would shine right back with the same level of intensity, I think you could say.
11:57But when Yuya Urumura got his first singles win back from Excursion, his first singles match back from Excursion in the Tokyo Dome over Yoda Tsuji.
12:06Right.
12:07So from there Tsuji had to take the hair of Urumura.
12:10It stepped up a level.
12:12And it was continuing to step up a level during the G1 Climax.
12:17And just as that match hits a fever pitch, Urumura tries for that high-five flow like splash and tears his triceps on land.
12:29I mean, still Urumura would say, yeah, I won the match, but I didn't really, you know, because I was off for seven months afterwards.
12:36And it was hardly a decisive victory.
12:39Just managed to luckily catch Tsuji on the back foot.
12:44And it is indeed Yuya Urumura made his return from that injury late last year.
12:52As recent as Ryokoku Samohal stepped up to a challenge that Tsuji was already ready to issue out, mind you, for that Global Heavyweight Championship.
13:00And it's come to this match here tonight.
13:01Yeah, right.
13:02It was, yeah, it was a new beginning that Yuya Urumura came back, targeted.
13:06Sanada beat him in the first round of the cup.
13:11And beat Sanada again.
13:13And Sakura Genesis then immediately going to Yota Tsuji.
13:17And Tsuji very quick in going to the arm of Urumura.
13:20Right.
13:21You mentioned that right triceps.
13:22Yeah, that's the right.
13:23And that is what Yuya Urumura is going to be tending to a lot throughout this match-up.
13:27Tsuji has made a very stark point throughout post-match comments this year.
13:31I will break your arm in this match if I have to, to showcase who I am.
13:35That is the Global Heavyweight Champion.
13:37Better than Yuya Urumura.
13:38I think Tsuji in the press conference earlier on in the week was very gracious to Yuya Urumura.
13:46But there seems to be a little bit of backhanded compliments going on.
13:51And kind of say, well, I want to make sure that everybody knows that Yuya Urumura is a top flight star.
13:57And I'm sure Tsuji wants to do that.
14:00But at the same time, he wants to beat Yuya Urumura.
14:04And Tsuji showcasing exactly why he has the better of a 16, 12, and 22 record going all the way back to 2018 when these men competed as Young Lions.
14:18Only three post-excursion singles matches.
14:20We've all hit through Tokyo Dome to new beginning in Sapporo last year to G1 climax later on in August.
14:27Keep in mind, Chris, Yuya Urumura was still, especially with that victory over Tsuji alive and well in that tournament.
14:33If that injury had not taken place, Urumura very well could have found himself in the finals against Zack Sabre Jr.
14:39Yeah, it really certainly seemed that way, that it was going to force a very, very tight, difficult situation.
14:47You and I were friendedly working out the mathematics of it.
14:51And then, of course, all of that math was for naught as Urumura was forced to withdraw.
15:00It's certainly right, even though it is a 2-1 score in Urumura's favor since both came back from excursion.
15:10I think, effectively, you could call that a tie.
15:12You know, I think we would say 1-1-1, really, between these two men.
15:17Tsuji in the plus position right now, but I don't know about that.
15:20And that is going to continue the work over with the right arm of Yuya Urumura.
15:25This conversation we've been having, and it's been taking place throughout the build, Chris, of the sun versus the moon.
15:31It's not the first time in New Japan that we've had this sort of discussion before.
15:35Yeah, you know, long-time fans and people would see similarities.
15:42Tsuji and Shinsuke Nakamura with Yuya Urumura and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
15:48Way, way back in the day, Tanahashi was called the genius of the sun.
15:51Oh, my God.
15:54Oh, my God.
15:59Tsuji attacking that right side.
16:01There is a tradition in professional wrestling in Japan, often in the West,
16:06for targeting to happen on the left side of the body, which is what Yuya Urumura did right there.
16:12That stretches way, way back to the origins of professional wrestling.
16:16You're working on the docks, you're working in the factories, you're doing manual labor.
16:20You have to go to work the next day, so if you're going to break an arm, it's the left arm.
16:24Sure.
16:25It's an honor amongst thieves in that respect, and a gentleman's agreement.
16:29But that's not a tradition that follows through in Mexico where Yodosuji spent his excursion.
16:34Yeah.
16:35And he's very, very comfortable in targeting the right side of Urumura.
16:37Yeah.
16:38Quite the opposite end of the equation there in Lucha Libre, where Yodosuji will have this experience.
16:43But Yuya Urumura, so, so well adept at the basics.
16:47The cover here only leads to two.
16:54And you talk about Urumura and Tsuji being forced to stick around a way longer amount of time
16:59than anyone might have imagined when they were young lions because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
17:03And I really truly believe that has aided Urumura more than it has anyone else that came out of that period of time.
17:09Yeah, I mean, I don't think that anybody is more technically sound, firm on his fundamentals than Yuya Urumura is normally.
17:21But I think it's being forced out of his head right here by Tsuji.
17:25Forced to work the other side.
17:27Here's the Hurricanrana take down from Yodosuji as this one is going to spill on the outside for a little bit of separation.
17:34That's going to be very necessary for Urumura to find his way back into this.
17:37I think Yuya Urumura is not going to enjoy the benefit of the timeout.
17:41I think Tsuji is going to follow him right to the outside and maybe forcefully so.
17:45Yeah, potentially running in.
17:47Torpe Tsuji Sita to the outside.
17:52And did you see, I think he cracked his right elbow to Yuya Urumura on the guardrail there.
17:57Yeah, potentially so.
17:59I wonder if we'll get another look.
18:00Yeah, I'd love to get a replay on that.
18:02But either way, referee Kenta Sato doing what he can to try and check on the challenger for the Global Heavyweight Championship here.
18:15Kenta Sato really checking, trying to get Urumura to bend and straighten that arm, which he can do just about.
18:22Well, Kenta Sato is in the position last time that these two were forced to go to call.
18:28With that G1 Climax matchup, a difficult decision it would have been made for Kenta Sato.
18:34It's one that's going to be in his power tonight as Tsuji is going to bring this one back inside.
18:38And the world will wait for bated breath, or with bated breath rather.
18:51On the 10-minute call as Tsuji is going to look for some power offense.
18:54And this is...
18:55Oh, instinct.
18:56That's Tsuji being in Urumura's head.
18:59And no, no.
19:01Kemradora dropped down right on the knee for Yota Tsuji.
19:04Yeah, you're right about that, Chris.
19:06Urumura loves to throw those chops.
19:09He can throw them with the left.
19:10He can throw them with the right.
19:11It's much more natural to work from the right.
19:22Urumura is going to be taken off his base here in more ways than one mental, physical, in every which way.
19:29Tsuji has something in mind here, Chris.
19:31Urumura...
19:32Oh, it might be a little bit of putting early.
19:35Here we go.
19:36In position.
19:37Marlo!
19:38Out of the way for Urumura.
19:40And right back to the drop kicks here.
19:43And don't forget Tsuji had his knee jammed up real, real bad.
19:48Right.
19:49How's the torture heading into his last defense as Sakura Genesis?
19:53Yeah.
19:54We're more well aware of that fact.
19:57A little less than a month ago we saw as Yuya now with a figure four leg lock locked in.
20:02And a position these two have been in many times before.
20:05A good choice of hold for Yuya Urumura because he doesn't have to rely as much on his upper body to keep this hold in.
20:16A figure four you're basically trying to break your opponent's leg over his other leg using yours as the leverage.
20:23And hopefully Urumura can shake some circulation into his right arm as he's trying to apply pressure to Tsuji here.
20:35Oh yeah.
20:45Reverse the pressure briefly and to the bottom we make it.
20:48And that's going to force the break here courtesy of referee Kenta Sato.
20:55Now almost more pain being applied just as that hold is broken free.
21:10Just the way we talk about these men being polar opposites.
21:13The sun in Urumura.
21:14The moon in Yota Tsuji.
21:16That is the top half of the body for Urumura.
21:19Oh wait wait.
21:20That could spur forward.
21:21Trauma.
21:22Trauma said Urumura.
21:24Now that momentary gap is going to cost him more in the end here if Tsuji gets his way on it.
21:31Yeah.
21:32Urumura is saying that arm is 100% but I still have a mental block.
21:36I still have trauma every time I climb up to the top rope.
21:39Momentary hesitation.
21:40Tsuji takes advantage.
21:42Onyota Tsuji.
21:49Keeping this one from the heaven.
21:54Oh wow.
21:59Tsuji taken down here.
22:01Long long fall.
22:03Urumura to build that mental back.
22:07To find it here.
22:08High.
22:09No.
22:10And that high cross body nearly but not enough.
22:14And does he have the leverage on the dragon?
22:16No.
22:17Tsuji able to break the grip with that right arm.
22:20Oh.
22:21German suplex will find the way for Yuya Urumura.
22:25Oh and quickly brought back by Tsuji.
22:29Backbreaker.
22:30Face first.
22:31Curbstop avoided and it's Urumura up again.
22:35Look out.
22:36How many drop kicks have they traded?
22:45Since they were in Black Tights Walker.
22:48Seven years down the line.
22:50Wrestling Dontaku 2018 to 2025.
22:54A global championship relatively young.
23:04In New Japan Pro Wrestling.
23:07Only two title matches in a Dontaku.
23:09They were both.
23:10Last year on Dontaku weekend.
23:13One retention and one change.
23:15Norumura wants to make it two title changes.
23:21Here today.
23:22Let's see if he can close the distance.
23:25Urumura on that side.
23:26Yuranagi and instead Tsuji.
23:27Going to continue to fight in the stand.
23:28And is going to have a much easier time doing so.
23:29Than Urumura is Chris.
23:30I would ordinarily give Tsuji the advantage with elbows especially with the right side.
23:34Mr. Red Dead Tsuji.
23:35Suji going to continue to play in the stand and it's gonna have a much easier time doing so
23:40The new one more is Chris. I would ordinarily give Suji the advantage with elbows especially with the right side
23:54With the cover here no
23:59That was enough for me
24:01At the moment afterwards wincing grimacing in pain
24:11It's all done off of adrenaline off of what is known to you to be most effective against Suji
24:21He's determined isn't he Walker and he is to right the wrongs from G1 Climax last year
24:26In the wind what should have been his in the end or more up from the top. He's got a win over those
24:39It's a shade of G134 tonight
24:44Suji
24:46God and right to the cross arm right to the cross arm
24:51And if there's anything that's gonna tear at that tricep
24:54It's got the grip's gone
24:56No more is not gonna be able to protect against it dead center walk it
25:01Every second no more is in this hold is another chance of this global title slipping away
25:06Get to the ropes as fast as you can
25:16Try it
25:18Roll Suji under his shoulders. He's trying
25:22More trying for whatever leverage he can get with the full extension now. He's got the on a little bit bent
25:28But no
25:31Flatten back down there's a sense of urgency in this building unlike any other as Uomora's got to make it to the bottom rope here
25:41Outstretch those legs use the lower half that arm's not gonna give you anything
25:48Gnoring gnawing at his fist is Uomora so he doesn't tap out
25:53Yes, yes
25:56And Uomora finally makes it to that bottom rope
26:05The referee Kenta Sato is a very important job to do right now and that is
26:10To make a call if it's required
26:13That triceps got to be hanging on by a thread
26:18That's hanging on at all
26:20He's got to think there's Kenta Sato is a representative of this company. We've won
26:29In g1 climax 35
26:32We want him in main events. We want him
26:36In the main event of the tokyo dome and on and on to come
26:39Kenta Sato has to think of the long-term well-being of you Uomora because Uomora won't do it for himself
26:50Oh
27:04You heard Uomora is dead
27:06Konaida don't stop it
27:12That's using your head
27:14Using a little bit more of it, too. Oh and leans right in on the elbow
27:20And now the distance created is going to be academic if yota suji can land this one
27:42Oh, I don't want more to make sure that doesn't happen here tonight
27:47Gonna stay on that back to what he can
27:49Oh
27:55The dragon screw
27:57The second coming
27:58Oh, I can do it. He can do it right here
28:01A figure four locked in
28:03Well, that is a wrestling genius at work
28:07And you Uomora and the dragon screw into the figure four could lead it to the global title
28:18The torque the torque from you Uomora could put this one to bed here
28:23There's suji's trying to untie the knot that he's in right here, but it's not going to be an easy coming
28:31The yoda suji was firmly firmly in the driver's seat and now has had the steering wheel rested out of his hands
28:40And every pull every surge every struggle further
28:48Ripping and sharing at the ligaments
28:50He's a baby of the global everweight champion
28:57We're 15 minutes deep into this one
29:01Suji's not going to hold on for a full 60. There's no doubt about it
29:05He can't sense the pressure now
29:10an Indian death lock and Uomora
29:13He can't he can't
29:15So close as close as you can be without reaching for it
29:32And suji finally
29:35Graffs on to the bottom rope and holds on to the global title a little longer
29:57I see Uomora is getting a surge of that adrenaline what's the dragon screw again
30:05I see
30:07Last bit of breath out of yota suji
30:08Oh, but danger, danger
30:10Uomora is still
30:17And a german on the bridge
30:19The cover
30:19And Uomora is not letting go Chris
30:23He's still got waist control
30:25Still got a grip
30:27And still a ways to go to become global champion
30:30Yuya Uomora
30:32Ties it up
30:34Dragon got it
30:35No
30:39No
30:39But with every single suplex
30:45Every single strike thrown
30:47Yuya Uomora destroys a little piece of himself
30:51Well who will be destroyed first
30:56For the moon to fall the sun must rise backbreaker
31:02And still
31:04And still
31:06Still he wants to dispel those demons
31:09Demons from last summer
31:10To right the wrongs to clear your mental
31:13To become global heavyweight champion
31:18High
31:19Fly
31:20Flow
31:25No
31:25How much of the sun are you willing to destroy
31:41So the moon can no longer reflect
31:44Yuya Uomora with an answer here
31:46Dead ball
31:47No

32:00Yuya Uomora
32:02Overhooked
32:05Fight for control
32:07Fight for the globe
32:10Suji doing all as he can to not go for the ride
32:14It's a struggle
32:18It's a struggle
32:19It's a struggle
32:19It's not
32:20Dead ball
32:22Dead ball
32:22But he can't get the cover
32:23He can't get the bridge walk
32:25Suji
32:26Gene blaster
32:31He's got him
32:3623 minutes

36:12Moments ago, Walker, it was Naito centerpiece.
36:17Now it is Yodosuji taking the position Ellen Gobernable was kneeled in.
36:25We could talk about the light of the moon and we could talk about how shining bright that
36:30global championship is.
36:32But there is a brighter light in the torch that has perhaps been figuratively passed to Yodosuji.
