00:00The gentleman from the great state of Tennessee, Mr. Bruchette.
00:06Thank you, brother. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
00:10I rise this evening to congratulate President Trump on a successful first 100 days in office.
00:15Under President Trump's leadership, he has successfully closed the southern border.
00:19For the past four years, our country has been invaded by illegal aliens,
00:23many of whom are on the terrorist watch list, members of the Taliban,
00:27members of the Chinese Communist Party, not to mention MS-13 gangbangers,
00:31human traffickers, and fentanyl distributors.
00:34We've also trafficked over 300,000 children,
00:37and who knows what hell those young people are in right now because of our callousness.
00:44But not under this president, though.
00:47Under President Trump's leadership, the border is now completely shut down.
00:51That means safer streets, safer schools, and safer communities, Mr. Speaker.
00:55In my own community, some dear friends of mine, the Corcoran family,
01:00lost their dear son at the hands of an illegal.
01:04And I see them and talk to them on a regular basis,
01:07and I don't know anything that could ease their hurt except prayer.
01:16However, as we now pass the hundred days since President Trump has taken office,
01:21it's time for us to do our jobs and codify these executive actions that he has taken to make America great again.
01:27If Republicans are serious about backing the president's agenda,
01:31and let's do something about it, dadgummit, Mr. Speaker,
01:34that means making sweeping reforms that may actually involve some sacrifice,
01:39like passing a bill that I have, shameless plug, in Congressional Stock Trading Act,
01:46which would level the playing field and help restore America's faith in Congress once again.
01:52There's no reason in the world, Mr. Speaker, that we are individually trading stocks.
01:59Everybody ought to do like I do and have my buddy Tommy Siler manage my $11,000 portfolio,
02:06and I do not trade any individual stocks.
02:09It's all a mutual fund.
02:11President Trump said if Congress passed a bill banning stock trading for members of this body,
02:16he would sign it.
02:17I say let's give him that opportunity,
02:19but let's first see if Congress has the guts to stand up and do what's right.
02:24I sure as heck know that's what I'll do.
02:25Thank you, Mr. Speaker, and I yield the remainder of my time.
02:28I know I think my dear brother Blake helped me put this thing on.
02:32Thanks, brother.
02:34Appreciate it.
