00:00Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, this week, we celebrate National Small Business Week,
00:07a time to highlight American small business' incredible success throughout our country.
00:13Main Street businesses are truly the backbone of our economy, and I've had the privilege of
00:20visiting so many small businesses throughout Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District,
00:25such as the Inn at Herr Ridge, owned by Steve Wolf, the Family Table Restaurant,
00:33owned by Luke and Chloe Fogel in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and the Cove Creek Outfitters
00:40in Bedford, owned by Bob and Eric Turkovich. Now in Congress, it is critical that we continue our
00:49support for these small businesses by renewing President Trump's tax cuts so that American
00:56businesses can once again flourish. President Trump has made it easier for American businesses to thrive
01:03by stripping back needless regulations. By renewing President Trump's tax cuts, we can once again
01:11ensure that businesses continue to grow for years to come. Thank you.
01:22Mr. Speaker, over the last two weeks, two forest fires have ravaged Michal State Forest in Cumberland
01:30County, Pennsylvania. The fires have scorched thousands of acres of forest, forcing the evacuation
01:37of nearby residents. More than 150 brave firefighters responded to this. One of Pennsylvania's firefighters
01:46is the son of Jonathan and Bridget Prachthauser, a second-generation firefighter and currently a student
01:55at Shippensburg University. Daniel Prachthauser was with Vigilant Hose Company No. 1 throughout these
02:05firefighting endeavors. Daniel is part of the Vigilant Hose Company's live-in program that offers
02:12state-of-the-art dorm-style living, allowing students who are professional firefighters to continue their
02:20volunteer services while they pursue their education. This program not only allows local students to
02:27continue their service in the community, but also serves the Vigilant Hose Company to stay fully staffed
02:34so that they can more efficiently and rapidly respond to emergencies. On behalf of everyone in
02:41Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District, I want to personally thank Daniel for his devotion
02:46and his service to the community. Thank you. Mr. Speaker, during this year's National Appreciation of
02:57Teachers Week, I rise to recognize Ashley Crossan of Reedsville, Pennsylvania, who was named the 2025
03:05National Teacher of the Year. Ashley is an English teacher at Mifflin County High School, where she
03:11instructs students in an advanced placement language and composition classes. She also advises a journalism
03:18program, which publishes a school newspaper and district magazine. Ashley approaches teaching with the goal of
03:26helping each of her students develop their communication and problem-solving skills, to expand their
03:33worldview, and to use their voices for the betterment of society as a whole. Ashley's tireless dedication to
03:41her students is helping to prepare the next generation of creators, leaders, and innovators. Ashley is
03:49truly a source of pride for the entire Mifflin County School District and for her community. On behalf of
