00:08The First Fruits of the Pact for Animals.
00:11The Pact for Animals, an initiative promoted by Listín Diario
00:15and the Dominican Federation for Animal Rights, FEDA,
00:19has already begun to bear fruit.
00:21After uniting political business and social leaders in favor of animal protection,
00:26several public policy initiatives have been launched to guarantee these rights.
00:31Among its greatest achievements is the signing of a USUFROC contract by the state,
00:36granting 100 works for the construction of the City of Animals,
00:40the first project of its kind in Latin America.
00:43This mega-project, led by the Lasso Foundation,
00:46will include a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital,
00:50rehabilitation centers, assisted therapies and environmental education areas,
00:55becoming a model of sustainability and animal welfare.
00:59In addition, efforts have been initiated to reform Law 248-12,
01:04strengthening penalties against animal abuse.
01:07The Pact's National Executive Committee,
01:10comprised of key institutions such as the Ministry of Public Health,
01:14the National Police and 911,
01:16has enabled progress such as mass sterilization drives and coordinated rescues.
01:21Municipalities such as Boca Chica, Santiago and the National District
01:26have implemented shelters and adoption campaigns,
01:29while the support of President Luis Abinada, legislators
01:33and the international diplomatic community consolidates this effort as a state policy.
01:38The Pact for Animals has not only brought visibility to the suffering of vulnerable species,
01:44but has also demonstrated that when society and institutions unite,
01:47change is possible.
