00:00In the early hours of 7 May 2025, India delivered its answer to the Pehlgaam attack. Under the
00:19codename Operation Sindhur, the Indian armed forces launched precision strikes on nine terror
00:26bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
00:37The Defence Ministry confirmed the operation at 1.44 am, describing the strikes as focused,
00:44measured and non-escalatory. The objective was simple, to eliminate infrastructure linked to
00:50Lakshar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohmed and Hezbollah-Muzaheddin, groups with a history of orchestrating cross-border terror.
01:04What set Operation Sindhur apart was the deployment of French-origin Rafale fighter jets. These
01:10advanced multi-role aircraft, equipped with cutting-edge avionics and weaponry, spearheaded the mission.
01:20Sources confirmed the Rafale's launched scalp cruise missiles, long-range,
01:27air-launched weapons designed for deep strikes against fortified targets. Alongside hammer-precision
01:34guided munitions, known for their accuracy and resilience against jamming, were deployed to
01:40maximise impact while minimising collateral damage. The operation was a joint effort, involving the
01:52Indian armed force, army and navy. All strikes were conducted from within Indian airspace and every
01:59pilot returned safely. The nine targets spanned both deep inside Pakistan and in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
02:08Bhawalpur, Muritke, Gulpur, Sawai Camp, Kotli, Barnala, Sarjal, Mehmuna and Bilal Camp. Each location
02:16was identified through intelligence as a hub for terror planning and training.
02:23In light of these strikes, Pakistan closed its airspace for 48 hours and suspended all
02:30international flight operations, further indicating the seriousness of the unfolding situation.
