00:00Hey, what's going on GQ? This is Vibes Cartel, and these are 10 things I cannot do without.
00:17Now, this is my first essential, because in all things we do, we put God first.
00:23So my first essential is the Holy Bible, and my favorite psalm is Psalms 91.
00:29Psalms 91, I'm going to give you three verses.
00:32It says,
00:33I mean, this psalm, what it means to me is like, when you need that extra help,
00:48when you think you can't go any further, you can always turn to the psalms.
00:52They're like a direct connection to you and God.
00:55So that's my favorite psalms.
00:56Being incarcerated, I spoke out to God, I cried for help, and he replied.
01:01And I made a promise that if you get me out, I'll never stop calling your name,
01:07never stop praising your name, never stop being as positive as I can.
01:11And I'm keeping that promise to this day, man.
01:13For me, God is everything.
01:15God is the greatest, man.
01:16Now, my next essential is this.
01:22In Jamaica, we call them gummy beers.
01:24These are my two favorites.
01:25You know you have the Sour Patch Kids.
01:28And my all-time favorite, the classic.
01:31Now, this is the Gold Beer.
01:32And you can eat it on your own, drink it with water, or drink it with a cold beer.
01:39Is there any other candy sort of thing that you'd like?
01:40Yeah, I love Kit Kat.
01:42So, Kit Kat, if you see this, send me two containers of Kit Kat.
01:47Thank you, in advance.
01:49I think it's the energy that it gives, that rush ever since I was a kid.
01:52This has been my favorite since day that.
01:55You know what I mean?
01:55So, I'm loyal to what I'm loyal to.
01:59Well, my favorite brand of cologne is Louis Vuitton.
02:02It's the imagination, but I was in such a rush, I got the roses.
02:06It has that musky smell, it's nice.
02:07It has that manly smell that I like.
02:10And the ladies are attracted to it.
02:13Gatekeep is such a strong word, though.
02:16Let's go with that.
02:17My favorite cologne is Louis Vuitton.
02:20Wink, wink.
02:21You know what I mean?
02:22I think so, but yeah, I have my special mix that I don't talk about.
02:25It's a secret recipe, sort of like the KFC one.
02:33Now, this is my next essential and one of the most important essentials.
02:38Water.
02:39H2O.
02:40Especially because I'm an artist, so I drink a lot of water.
02:44So, it's good for the throat.
02:46Yeah, and it has to be room temperature, though.
02:48My voice box, as we like to call it,
02:51it's fully activated, so I have to be careful how I treat it.
02:55It's like the hamstring of an athlete.
02:57You know what I mean?
02:57You have to be careful with it.
02:58Cold water will mess up your throat, especially before you perform.
03:03Fun fact.
03:04Hydrogen starts fires.
03:06Oxygen starts fires.
03:08Put them together.
03:09You out the fire.
03:10Now, brings me to my next essential, the cell phone.
03:21I cannot go anywhere without it.
03:23This is my office.
03:25It's my communication tool.
03:27It's what I use to chill sometimes.
03:29I'm on a plane.
03:30I'm in the car.
03:31Chill.
03:32Scroll through the internet.
03:33I never leave home without my phones, and it has to be two.
03:36I got two phones like Kevin Gates.
03:40What else do you find yourself going on?
03:41Definitely Instagram and TikTok.
03:43You can mingle, talk to the fans, you know what I mean?
03:46Know what's new, what's trending.
03:48We use the Instagram to promote our stuff as well, and the TikTok.
03:52So, we're usually over there.
03:53Then, from there, we send them to our YouTube channel.
03:57My YouTube page is Vibes Cartel Radio, so go subscribe.
04:00Yeah, I'm on YouTube, too.
04:01I like it.
04:02It's very demure, is what I'm saying.
04:04It's very cutesy, in a way.
04:06It's very mindful.
04:08So, my next essential is two watches.
04:12I never go anywhere without at least two watches.
04:14Why?
04:14Maybe I'm trying to make up for lost time.
04:16This is my favorite Brandoff watch, the Rolex.
04:19So, this is the Everose Gold, presidential, with the factory-set diamonds.
04:24And this is also a Rolex, but it's the bust-down.
04:28And this is one of my favorite watches, because it was gifted to me by Popcorn.
04:32This young kid, I brought him to fame.
04:34And when I came out, he gave me this watch.
04:37And I wear it everywhere.
04:39So, big up Popcorn.
04:40Unruly.
04:41You're no one out.
04:42But you know what I've noticed?
04:44No matter how many times I wear two watches, I still get the same 24 hours.
04:49So, I'm thinking, did Einstein lie to us?
04:52Is time relative to The Observer?
04:55I don't know.
04:56In time.
04:59Now, my next essential is the Louis V string bag.
05:03My documents are in it, credit cards are in it, and my security is always around me.
05:08So, don't get any ideas.
05:09Let me see what else is in it.
05:12My torch, which is a lighter.
05:16I don't know what else is in it.
05:19Money.
05:20Money.
05:20And more money.
05:23But, yeah.
05:24This, don't leave home without it.
05:29My next essential are my sunglasses.
05:32In Jamaica, we just call them shades.
05:33So, this is the Fendi.
05:36As you see, now I have on the classic, biggest smalls, Versace.
05:39So, I love shades.
05:40The person who really made me appreciate the sunglass game is Bounty Killer.
05:45Because back then, he used to wear shades at night.
05:47So, now, like, it's just my day-to-day.
05:49I like to pick shades when I go shopping.
05:52Definitely got to grab a Louis.
05:53Got to grab a Bulgari, which is my favorite shades.
05:56And it's practical as well.
05:57Because sometimes, from the graves, I need glasses to protect my eyes.
06:02They're very functional, is what I'm saying.
06:05Bam.
06:05Now, my next essential, and probably my most important essential, is my brother and manager,
06:16TJ, from TJ Records.
06:19Now, he handles everything for me.
06:21Bookings, you know, I mean, managing, dealing with my flights, my hotels.
06:26He makes sure my life goes as smoothly as possible.
06:29I like to say, during interviews, if I can't remember something, I say, ask TJ.
06:35And that slang has become viral in Jamaica.
06:39It's crazy.
06:40I'm almost a decade older than he is.
06:42So, I met him when he was younger, like, out of high school.
06:45He used to promote shows, like concerts and parties.
06:49And I did a party for him.
06:51And when he started producing, right, I did the first song.
06:54I was the first artist who recorded for him.
06:56He doesn't talk.
06:57And I'm going to be honest.
06:59His nickname is The Grinch.
07:01That's what we call him, because once you see his face get serious, you know it's work time.
07:08All fun is over.
07:09So, yeah, that's TJ.
07:11Real essential.
07:12Hug me, broski.
07:14Come on.
07:14Love you, bro.
07:15Love you, bro.
07:16Hell, yeah.
07:19Now, for my next essential, I have a cardholder wallet.
07:24Some people call it a cardholder.
07:26Some people call it a wallet.
07:27But it holds my credit cards.
07:29In here, I have my BOA credit cards.
07:32I have credit cards from a few banks in my hometown of Jamaica.
07:36And, like, as you see, it slew it out.
07:40So, yeah.
07:41I can't leave home without this.
07:47Well, go on.
07:49It's Vibes Cartel.
07:50And I got to say, GQ, this was fun.
07:52Thank you for having me.
07:53And I'm glad I got to showcase my 10 essentials to you guys.
07:58And before I go, please go check out my new album, Viking, 10th Anniversary Edition.
08:05It's on all digital platforms.
08:07Thank you, guys.
08:08What is on the news?
08:10I'm out.
