00:00So how is season 18 or season 3 of Evolution different from what came before?
00:05Oh man, you know, I honestly just feel like now that we're on Paramount Plus,
00:09we've got this latitude to do so much more with the show,
00:12and it's just more exciting every time because we're figuring out.
00:17It's almost like having a box of new toys,
00:18and we're getting to figure out what we can do with the new toys,
00:22and those toys are basically space and time, you know,
00:25room to give the show to breathe, space to examine characters' lives more deeply,
00:31and even to get more deep into the minds of the criminals that we're after.
00:35Well, I was going to ask, how has the switch to Paramount affected the show?
00:38Because obviously you're cursing a lot more.
00:40I was re-watching the show last night, and there's a lot of it,
00:42which you didn't really get in the original,
00:44but is there anything else that you felt as an actor that, like,
00:46you can feel the difference and this has made the show even better?
00:49Yeah, I think a lot more.
00:50I mean, listen, it's great to be able to speak the way people really speak,
00:54especially when you're doing a job like that.
00:56You know, I mean, you encounter the kind of things that people that are doing our jobs
01:00or detectives encounter on a daily,
01:03and there's no doubt you're going to drop, you know, an F-bomb
01:06or some other expletive just in the course of speaking about it.
01:09So it feels great to be able to do that authentically,
01:12and it makes it feel more, you know, more realistic.
01:18You know, it just feels more real.
01:19So it's great as an actor.
01:21It's great for the writers that get to, you know, really do these things
01:24and make them feel more believable.
01:26I think it also gives us a chance, like I said,
01:29to not have to squeeze so much story in between commercials
01:34and, you know, being worried about time constraints.
01:36And so I think we've all enjoyed this new freedom that we have on Paramount Plus
01:40and hopefully the audiences too.
01:42I mean, I know it takes a little while to get used to the new format,
01:45and it's a little more serialized now,
01:47but I think we're really fine-tuning the formula
01:50and, like, finding the thing that everybody loves,
01:53where we have the freak of the week, as Aisha likes to call them.
01:57And so we've got the freak of the week where we, you know,
02:01we track down one killer and put them away,
02:03and we get the satisfaction of that.
02:05But doing it in a serialized way also gives us the luxury
02:08of having an overarching story that, you know,
02:11just allows for more exploration for the actors and the writers.
02:17What can you tease about what unfolds?
02:18How does the story end this season?
02:20Does it end on a cliffhanger?
02:21Will fans be satisfied?
02:22Are we going to be, like, distraught until we get the next season?
02:25I know you guys have already been renewed,
02:27so at least we don't have to worry about that.
02:29I'll just say I think you'll be distraught until you get the next season.
02:32Okay.
02:33Hopefully always.
02:34Love that.
02:34Hopefully we always leave you there.
02:36Yeah.
