00:00San Antonio Spurs of Worldwide Jeremy Sohan is currently in the country to serve as ambassador for the NBA Rising Stars Invitational Putin Qualifiers, which will run from May 7 to 10. Here's Cape Austria with the details.

00:14Good news for Filipino basketball fans, as Jeremy Sohan, one of the rising stars of the San Antonio Spurs, is currently in the Philippines. The 6-8 Power Forward will stay in the country from May 7 to 10 to serve as ambassador for the first-ever regional high school basketball tournament, the NBA Rising Stars Invitational Philippines Qualifiers.

00:36Two spots for both boys and girls divisions will be up for grabs, leading to the main tournament in Singapore this June. In a recent exclusive interview with PTV Sports at the NBA Philippines Headquarters in Taguig, Sohan expresses excitement to inspire young Filipino hoopers.

00:53Yeah, it's huge. You know, when I look at it, you know, I was in their footsteps, you know, being invited to these kind of tournaments, trying to, you know, make it out to, you know, the regionals and, you know, bigger things. So I think it's, you know, super exciting to be here, to be able to motivate them, you know, be present. And, you know, it's good.

01:13Sohan also shared some advice with aspiring basketball players who dream of playing in prestigious leagues like the NBA.

01:19For me, you can't skip steps. You know, you have to do the little things, keep working hard. You know, even, you know, stuff outside of basketball, you know, stretching, working on your body, on your mental. There's so much, you know, different things that go into it. So I think, you know, just not skipping the small steps and just working hard and, you know, fighting for adversity and, you know, making a name for yourself.

01:45Before the finals of the NBA Rising Stars invitation of Philippine qualifiers, fans will also have the chance to meet Sohan during a meet-and-greet event at a mall in Pase City this Friday.
