00:00If you've made it to this video, it's because you need to use macros or VBA code in PowerPoint,
00:08but you don't have the Developer tab, which is the tab that lets you add these functions.
00:15Don't worry, you're not alone.
00:18Throughout this simple video tutorial, I'm going to show you how you can enable the Developer tab in PowerPoint.
00:24And if this is the first time you've heard of this tab, I'll tell you that the Developer tab in PowerPoint is a tool that lets you add advanced functions using macros and VBA,
00:36which stands for Visual Basic for Applications.
00:43It's used to automate tasks, create interactive presentations, and customize functions that can't be done with PowerPoint's normal options alone.
00:51So now I'm going to show you how you can enable the Developer tab in PowerPoint.
00:58To do this, we'll have to go here, right up top left, where it says File.
01:03This menu will open, and we'll notice that at the bottom left of everything it says Options.
01:09We click on Options and this PowerPoint Options tab will open.
01:14We're going to go to General.
01:17Okay, so here's what we're going to do in General.
01:21Let's go ahead and check that here we have General, Review, Save, etc.
01:27But there's an option that says Customize the Ribbon.
01:31We click here and now the most used commands will appear in the main tabs on the right.
01:37Well, let's do the following.
01:40Let's scroll down and if you see there's a tab that's not selected called Developer.
01:44We click on it and when we click on it, Codes, Add-ins, and Controls will be activated.
01:53We click on Accept and now we see how automatically between View and Help the Developer tab has appeared with new functions.
02:00And if you've activated it by accident and you don't like it or you'd like to deactivate it again, how do you do it?
02:11Well, look, it's very easy.
02:13We repeat the previous steps.
02:14We go here at the top left to File, we go to Options, we go to Customize the Ribbon and here where it says Developer we deactivate it and click on Accept.
02:25And as you can see, between View and Help the tab has disappeared and that's how easy it is to enable and remove the Developer tab in PowerPoint.
