00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Guesenbet and the football season is now over for EFL and non-league clubs,
00:06but we still have three teams with a whole lot to play for, and that is courtesy of the playoffs,
00:10as teams get ready to battle out for the chance to get promoted.
00:14Now we've got teams with their seasons on the line in League One and the National League,
00:17so let's have a look at what they're facing and what their chances are of progressing.
00:22We're going to start with League One and Stockport County,
00:24because Dave Challenger's team finished third in the regular season, just five points behind Wrexham,
00:29and while coming so close will be heartbreaking, finishing so high means that they'll play Leighton Orient in the playoffs.
00:35And while Orient are on a good run of form, they only made it into the playoffs on the final day of the season,
00:40and Stockport do have the fortune of playing the all-important second leg at home.
00:44Now it's been a great first season back at League One level for Stockport and a great effort from the squad,
00:49particularly after losing top scorer Louis Barry back in January.
00:52They'll be relying on the goal-scoring ability of Carl Wooten and the experience of players like Oli Norwood to triumph in this playoff tournament,
00:59and if they beat Orient over the two legs, they'll face one of Charlton or Wickham in the playoff final at Wembley on the 25th of May.
01:05Now dropping down to the National League, both Rochdale and Oldham Athletic are in with a good shot.
01:09They're currently set to play in the first round, but more complex playoff system.
01:13Only two teams go up from the National League this year, and Barnett won that riot automatically,
01:17with second and third place York and Forest Green progressing straight into the semifinals.
01:21Oldham and Rochdale will have to beat Halifax and Southend respectively in order to progress to those semifinals,
01:26and because they've finished in fourth and fifth positions, both teams will be playing at home next week,
01:30so it's a great opportunity to get down and soak up the atmosphere in person.
01:34If things go right, we could be eyeing up an all-Greater Manchester final on June 1st.
01:38Now that's all for now. Follow Manchester World for more, and we'll keep you updated.
