00:08Mary Perez de Maranzini, A Legacy of Love and Dignity.
00:12The passing of Doña Mary Perez de Maranzini leaves a void in Dominican society,
00:18but also an indelible legacy of dedication, humanity, and vision.
00:23Founder of the Dominican Rehabilitation Association, ADR,
00:26she dedicated more than six decades to transforming pain into hope,
00:31limitations into opportunities, and exclusion into inclusion.
00:35Her life was a testament that true greatness is not measured in titles,
00:39but in actions that endure.
00:41Moved by maternal love, when her son Kelso faced polio,
00:45she extended that same love to thousands of families,
00:48building a network of 34 centers that today rehabilitate bodies, but also dignity.
00:54Her philosophy was clear.
00:57Disability does not define a person's worth.
01:00It is defined by their ability to be self-sufficient and contribute to society.
01:05Doña Mary not only founded an institution,
01:08she embodied a model of pragmatic solidarity.
01:11Her tenacity, that blend of serenity and firmness,
01:15succeeded in uniting wills and resources in a country where both are scarce.
01:19The street that bears her name in Santo Domingo is more than a tribute.
01:26It is a reminder that true progress is built on empathy and persistence.
01:31Today, as the Maranzini family and the ADR mourn,
01:35the entire nation must unite,
01:37not only in grief, but in the commitment to preserve her work.
01:40May her life inspire us to continue working for a country where no one is left behind.
01:46Rest in peace, this tiny woman with a gigantic soul
01:50whose legacy lives on in every person rehabilitated,
01:54in every smile restored.
01:56Thank you, Doña Mary.
