00:00Legendary celebration and commemoration unlike no other.
00:04Festivities marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day have wrapped up in Russia.
00:09Events took place all across the country, although the centerpiece showcase was in Moscow,
00:15where thousands of troops and military vehicles paraded through the Red Square
00:19to mark the Victory Day on victory over Nazi Germany.
00:23Now, a feat achieved by Soviet heroes who Russia will never forget.
00:28I congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
00:35Today, we are united by feelings of joy and sorrow, pride and gratitude,
00:39and admiration for the generation that crushed Nazism,
00:43at the cost of millions of lives which won freedom and peace for all mankind.
00:48We faithfully preserve the memory of these historical, triumphant events.
00:52And as the heirs of the victors, we celebrate the holiday of May 9th as our own,
00:56as the most important for the country, for each family, for each of us.
01:01Our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers saved the fatherland
01:05and bequeathed to us to defend the homeland, firmly defend our national interests,
01:10our 1,000-year history, culture, traditional values, everything that is dear to us, that is sacred to us.
01:17We remember the lessons of the Second World War and will never agree with the distortion of its events,
01:22with attempts to justify the executioners and slander the true victors.
01:27Our duty is to defend the honor of the soldiers and commanders of the Red Army,
01:31the great feat of various representatives of different nationalities,
01:34who will forever remain in world history as Russian soldiers.
01:38Russia has been and will be an indestructible barrier to Nazism, Russophobia, anti-Semitism.
01:45We'll fight the atrocities committed by the proponents of these aggressive, destructive ideas.
01:50Truth and justice are on our side.
01:53The entire country, society, and people support the participants of the special military operation.
01:58We are proud of their courage and determination,
02:01that strength of spirit that has always brought us only victory.
02:05Now, grand celebrations in Russia ended with the traditional May 9th fireworks.
02:12The night sky was lit up in spectacular fashion in dozens of spots around Moscow,
02:17as well as in other cities all across the country.
02:20Here is a look back at how the day unfolded.
02:35The night sky is an open source of smokes-drawn rights and explosives.
02:39Let us live in sushi alone.

02:43KELLEY
05:26Among those that he's met was the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fitzo, who has caused a huge wave of criticism in the European Union.
05:36He is, in fact, the only European Union member state leader to come to Moscow and attend these commemoration events marking 80 years since the defeat of Nazi Germany.
05:50And for that he's caused quite a lot of criticism among his colleagues.
05:56Several countries even shut down their airspace for his plane.
06:00But both leaders called these obstructions mere technical difficulties.
06:05And Robert Fitzo said that he would find a way to reach Moscow on this day.
06:10Also adding that the anti-Russian sanctions aren't only non-effective, but are hurting the European Union itself.
06:18There is now a huge attempt to build a new Iron Curtain between Europe and the Russian Federation.
06:27This is taking on different forms.
06:29I saw one with my own eyes yesterday when it was impossible to come here.
06:34It is, of course, taking on the form of sanctions, which do not work and which often damage the European Union itself.
06:42Another European leader who has caused a lot of criticism from European Union officials is the president of Serbia, Alexander Vucic,
06:52who also came to Moscow and met with the Russian president, outlining the close relationship between the two countries
07:00and also saying how he wants to develop this relationship between Russia and Serbia even further, especially in the energy sphere.
07:09You know we have a vital issue, gas supplies.
07:14We still have a long-term contract and we have very good terms.
07:17I need to thank you for that.
07:19We hope it will be possible for us to maintain these terms and, if I may say so, even improve them.
07:24But besides meeting with Vladimir Putin, Alexander Vucic also met with the president of China, Xi Jinping.
07:32I am very pleased with the content of the conversation we had with President Xi.
07:36He assessed the bilateral relations between Serbia and China in the same way I did, considering them exceptional, calling us sincere, strong friends.
07:47Now, to put things in context and for your understanding of the scale of this absurdity, I can't call this in any other way the scale of this criticism and threats coming from the European Union
07:59And regarding those who decided to come to Moscow, it reached a point when the European Union foreign policy chief said that anyone who would decide to come to Moscow and attend these events marking the defeat of Nazi Germany would, quote, choose the wrong side of history.
08:16Well, Robert Fietzo made it quite clear what he thinks about that.
08:22Today I received a message from the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs that I stand on the wrong side of history.
08:30I don't quite understand this remark by the High Representative of the European Union.
08:35I think it is our duty to communicate.
08:37I am a prime minister who is interested in a normal discussion.
08:40You know our view that there is no military solution to the war.
08:46More bilateral meetings are expected on Saturday as Moscow, Russia and the world really continues marking 80 years since the defeat of Nazi Germany.
08:58Nikola Piskunov, RT, reporting from the Kremlin.
09:01Well, besides the customary military vehicles which rumbled over Red Square cobbles during the parade, the new phase of modern warfare made its first ever appearance.
09:14Attack drones.
09:15Now, RT's Igor Zdanov has more on this.
09:19Tradition and remembrance are, of course, a huge part of any Victory Day parade.
09:24After all, this is a reason why these processions are always led by the legendary T-34 tank, the tank of victory, the tank that allowed the Soviet Union to strip the dominance on the ground away from the Nazi Germany.
09:39But it is also very much about the future, very much about the future of warfare.
09:45And here, for the first time, taking part in the Victory Day parade in Moscow, are Russian long-range UAVs.
09:53These are two different variations of a Giranj attack drone.
09:59They have become the bane of Ukraine's existence, quite literally, because these are the long-range drones.
10:07They're used to attack some of the most important targets hundreds of kilometers away from the front line.
10:15This is one of Russia's key weapons that it uses to attack Ukraine's military facilities and military targets very far away from the front line.
10:26These UAVs aren't the only ones that are being paraded again for the first time here through central Moscow, through the Red Square.
10:34These, this is a different breed of a UAV.
10:40These are Lancet drones.
10:42And you can see they're displayed here, two Lancet drones.
10:46They are the ones that strike the target.
10:48And here, you have a Zala drone.
10:51Basically, it is a surveillance drone that feeds the coordinates to the Lancets.
10:58Now, they are more of a medium-range weapon.
11:01Basically, if Giranj's are more of a strategic attack drone, these are, again, these operate on a tactical level.
11:09Basically, if this Zala spots an enemy tank or a large group of enemy military personnel, of military servicemen approaching the front line,
11:21while they're still maybe a few dozen kilometers away from the front line, that's when the Lancet comes into action.
11:30And it films everything in high definition, too.
11:34So, there have been plenty of footage of the Russians using these Lancets very, very effectively.
11:41In fact, we have had a chance to talk to a bunch of crews while working in the Donbass.
11:47And they are truly one of the, basically, a priority target.
11:52They are hunted down viciously by the Ukrainian military.
11:56This is, they are viewed as a huge, huge threat.
12:00Over here, you have Russian Arlan drones.
12:05These are purely surveillance.
12:07They are used, basically, this is the eyes in the sky for the Russian army, also operating dozens of kilometers behind the front line.
12:17So, their job is to spot potential targets as early as possible.
12:24And they provide live footage, too.
12:26So, here, again, for the first time, you have, we have on display, basically, the weapons of the future.
12:35The weapons that have reshaped the warfare as we know it.
12:41Now, the Nicaraguan president's special representative for interaction with Russia says that
12:46his country will never forget the Soviet Union's efforts in liberating the world from fascism,
12:53despite the West's attempt to rewrite history in its favor.
12:59It is a great honor for us to be here and celebrate such an important date for the whole world together with the people of Russia.
13:07I convey heartfelt congratulations from the leaders of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, to our friend Vladimir Putin.
13:16I was very happy to shake his hand and say, Nicaragua is with you.
13:21The leadership of our country supports Russia and understands the sacrifice made by the Soviet people, who saved the whole world from fascism.
13:29We especially note the fact that President Vladimir Putin continues to make efforts for the benefit of all mankind.
13:36And we also understand that the fight continues.
13:39We support Russia in this new confrontation with fascism, which is raising its head again.
13:45I am talking about the puppet government of Ukraine, supported and financed by NATO.
13:49And we would like to tell the people of Russia and Vladimir Putin personally once again that we are brotherly nations,
13:56and we will always go hand in hand in this fight.
13:59We could not help but come to Moscow on such a significant date.
14:03Of course, the U.S. and its European allies would like to rewrite history and hide the truth about the enormous sacrifice made by the Soviet people.
14:12A whole campaign was launched in the West to make us believe in something that did not happen.
14:15We all know who suffered the most, who made the greatest sacrifice, and who actually defeated fascism and Nazism.
14:24It was the Soviet Union.
14:25We will not allow ourselves to be deceived.
14:28We want the memory of these events to live on, so that young people remember it.
14:32It is very important to preserve the memory of the great feat of the Soviet people.
14:37Today, it is extremely necessary to take a tough stance against the revival of fascism.
14:42We must act as a united front.
14:44Our proud people are firmly convinced that they are always ready to resist any attempt at outside influence.
14:52Therefore, we are strengthening relations with brotherly nations that treat us with respect and treat us as equals,
14:59for example, with Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela.
15:02We share common values and goals, first and foremost in terms of loyalty to our peoples
15:08and commitment to peaceful coexistence, and cooperation based on respect and equality.
15:13We see that the countries of the New World Order are represented here.
15:18New alliances are being formed to create a better future.
15:21We are making more and more efforts to strengthen the role of BRICS and the Eurasian Economic Union.
15:27These are important platforms for cooperation, which are certainly perceived as a threat by adherence of the imperialist course.
15:36However, by working together, we will be able to resist such attempts at influence.
15:41And we will continue to move in this direction, implementing programs and projects through which we will strengthen ties and resist aggression from the United States and its European allies,
15:51who impose sanctions or increase tariffs on all countries in the world.
15:56They consider those countries that choose their own path of development, their own governments, culture, traditions,
16:03and are not going to dance to someone else's tune as a threat.
16:07We consider this approach of Western countries unacceptable.
16:11We will continue to fight together with all fraternal peoples against such attempts at domination.
16:20Well, let's get back to our top story we're following.
16:23That's the current tensions between India and Pakistan.
16:27Now, let's discuss this live now with RIT South Asia editor, Ashok Bagriya, who joins me right now from New Delhi.
16:35Ashok, I'm glad to have you join me.
16:37So, the Indian Foreign Ministry held a press briefing following the exchange of fire.
16:45What were the takeaways from there?
16:48Yeah, so a few minutes back, the Indian Foreign Ministry held a briefing,
16:53a media briefing where they apprised the people as to what has happened in the last 10 hours.
17:00The biggest, there were three big takeaways from the briefing.
17:03The biggest takeaway was the fact that in the last 10 hours,
17:07there has been a steady buildup by Pakistan of its armed forces along the borders.
17:13Now, the Indian side sees it as not just provocatory,
17:18but an escalatory step on the part of Pakistan.
17:21The second important thing that emerged from the briefing was the fact that India admitted to the fact
17:27that they had carried out some strikes on the air force bases in Pakistan,
17:33but at the same time put in a rider saying that these were in response to actions taken by the Pakistani side.
17:41And the third thing that the Indian side pointed out very categorically and clearly
17:47was that there was a misinformation and a disinformation campaign that was launched
17:52by the Pakistani side where there were various claims of Indian jets and Indian air force stations
18:01being attacked by the Pakistani missiles and they were all baseless.
18:06Now, the Indian government also pointed out that in the last 10 hours,
18:10that is on the intervening night of 9th and 10th May,
18:14at least 26 locations in India were attacked by the Pakistan side.
18:21All of these, but what is interesting about these 26 locations which were attacked were right,
18:27that they are right going from the northern end to the western part of India.
18:33That is all along the border that India shares with Pakistan.
18:37All the places have been attacked by missiles, drones, and also high speed or heavy artillery.
18:45So this is the situation on the ground at the moment.
18:48But as you rightly said, that the situation is very fluid at the moment along the India-Pakistan borders,
18:56and there has been relentless firing and heavy shelling from both sides.
19:01All right. RT South Asia editor Ashok Bagriya, thank you for bringing us up to speed.
19:07Now, Russia had offered a three-day ceasefire covering the Victory Day commemorations.
19:15However, Ukraine responded with an attack on the border city of Belgorod,
19:20which left two people, including a senior local official, wounded.
19:24With the details, here is RT's Roman Kossarev.
19:27The Russian defense ministry have confirmed that all forces are observing the ceasefire
19:34and are not currently launching any air strikes, artillery strikes, or drone strikes against Ukraine,
19:42while the forces of the Kiev regime, on the other hand, are using this downtime to attack Russia.
19:49A government building in the Belgorod region was struck by a country causing drone.
19:55As a result, the deputy governor had suffered a concussion,
19:59and one of the security officers received a shrapnel wound to his thigh.
20:05Elsewhere, Ukraine continues to shrapnel residential districts in Polovka in the Donetsk People's Republic.
20:13According to the local head of government,
20:15the forces of the Kiev regime are using clustering munitions against the civilian population.
20:22And, by the way, civilians of Polovka have been constantly terrorized by Ukrainian forces
20:29over the last 11 years non-stop.
20:34233 people have been killed, and over 1,500 were wounded since the start of a special military operation.
20:43Meanwhile, celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War
20:49continue in Russia and around the world.
20:53However, it seems that this day, sacred to hundreds of billions of people around the world,
21:01is not really shared by the current neo-Nazi regime in Kiev.
21:07This woman in Kiev was detained by the police,
21:10listening to a Russian song.
21:15It is forbidden to listen to Russian songs. Forbidden.
21:18I have the right to listen to Russian songs anywhere.
21:22What's the difference? I even pray in Russian.
21:24Are you going to arrest me because I pray in Russian?
21:31The police in Kiev have also detained an elderly woman
21:35who wanted to lay flowers for the fallen soldiers in one of the city's parks.
21:40She only wanted to pay respect to the fallen soldiers of World War II
21:46and put on a cab with a red star.
21:49The police demanded to remove the headdress.
21:53The woman refused, and they arrested her.
21:57Well, the three-day truce, which was unilaterally declared by Russia, still continues.
22:03Kiev, as always, seems to capitalize on that with more shilling and arrests of ordinary citizens
22:11who simply want to commemorate the fallen heroes.
22:15Roman Goswami, RT.
22:18Italian war correspondent Andrea Lucidi says that the incident reveals Kiev's true intentions.
22:28I think that such event like targeting the city of Belgorod in the day of victory
22:35is a symptom that Kiev is not searching peace.
22:39They want to continue the war.
22:41The Ukrainian government now is following only orders from someone.
22:48And six months ago, I would like to say that this someone was seated in Washington,
22:55but maybe today this place was substituted by someone that is sitting in Bruxelles.
23:03Because the European Union now want to take the place of the Biden administration
23:08as a main sponsor for Kiev for continuing this war against Russia.
23:15Because this war is not for, in my opinion, it's not for defending Ukraine,
23:20the sovereignty of Ukraine, etc., but it's a way for fighting against Russia.
23:26If during a ceasefire, in the day of victory, the Ukrainian side pretends to target a city
23:35at the border like Belgorod without any response,
23:40I'm sure that it's impossible to negotiate with such people.
23:43In the last 2 years, the temptation received행禍 an terror,
23:48but they are probably responsible for itself tomorrow.
23:49municipality decided to avoid passing empty states
23:50to get there at the border like Belgium,
23:52which means according to Syria,
23:53I'm sure.
23:54And also, the national side of the Ukraine
23:56must take place against Russia.
23:58If you stand on the border like Belgium here,
24:00I feel better than I have to say somethingame now that
24:03does not exist.
24:04But the media is still a problem to blame
24:07that ranks in US.
24:08But hands alone in the destroyer state.
24:09There are literally facts.
24:10What's running on the eligible device?
