00:00Sir Hattie
00:30So, let's just recap regarding the inaugural season of the Philippine Open 2025
00:39It exceeded our expectations. So, a lot of Somali did in the Philippine Open
00:45But sadly, I was expecting it to be...
00:49We were expecting 128, but Somali was around 200
00:54But sadly, there are still not going to go to the provinces
01:01Because there are no money to go and get expenses here
01:06So, there are still a lot of players who are not going to go to the Philippines
01:10So, the next Philippine Open, I hope we will bring it closer to the province
01:16So, at least they are going to go to those who are not going to go to the province
01:20I think Sir Hattie, that's a very good idea
01:21That you are going to go to the province
01:24But the reception was very good
01:26From 128, expecting participants, 200
01:30That's a lot of people there
01:32How about in preparation or timeline for the SBA Season 2?
01:37For Season 2, we would want to start first with the draft pick
01:41So, let's make the players and teams
01:46And we can start marketing towards Season 2
01:48Season 2, we are targeting to start maybe around September
01:52For the draft pick, we were planning to do it early June or mid-June
01:58So, that's right, we will get the players and teams
02:02And I know that the team owners have chosen players from the Philippine Open
02:07So, Sir Hattie, since you managed the top billiard league in the Philippines
02:11Just the SBA, what do you think about the billiards in the Philippines
02:16Ever since you started this SBA?
02:18Maybe there was an increase of interest in the sport
02:23But I think it's not enough
02:24It's not enough
02:25Because you can see if a sport is thriving or big
02:31If you look at the athletes
02:33If the athletes' lives are good
02:36It means the sport is becoming bigger
02:39But as of now, yes, there are some players
02:43But there are just a few of them
02:46So, we would want to increase that number
02:48So, we would like to increase that number
02:49So, it would be good and successful all of the athletes of the billiards
02:54Sir Hadley, partner, I was talking about this
02:56Because I featured him in our segment of Live Better
02:59But in order to give them a hint
03:01Why are the billiards?
03:03Why, with all the sports available in the Philippines
03:06Why do we support the billiards?
03:08I grew up with the sport
03:11My dad was the manager of the players before
03:14He was trained or trained by Carlo Biado
03:19Yohan Chua when they were young
03:22That's just to name a few
03:25So, I was just a kid
03:26I met with the top pro players in the Philippines
03:30So, the sport stuck to me
03:34I liked it
03:36That's why I wanted to use billiards in the sport
03:39Sir Hadley, aside from that you always want the sport
03:40You always want the sport
03:41You always want the sport
03:42You always want the sport
03:43You always want the sport
03:44But what's that one thing in the sport of billiards?
03:45Why do you want it?
03:46And if you have one thing that you have learned
03:49From the people that you have learned
03:51From the billiards community
03:52And, Sir, personally
03:53What's your learned
03:54As you manage the billiards?
03:57For me
03:59Because I have ADHD
04:02I was diagnosed with ADHD
04:04And the sport helps me focus
04:06Because you have one thing in the table
04:10It's a sport that requires a lot of focus
04:14Because you need the body
04:15Right?
04:16Right?
04:17Right?
04:18Right?
04:19So, I think that's what I learned
04:22Or one of the things that helped me
04:27Because the billiards is one of the things that helped me
04:30To maintain the focus
04:32Regarding naman sa mga taong nakilala ko
04:36O na pasalimu ko sa billiards
04:39Iba-iba eh
04:41Iba-iba
04:42And mostly
04:43The sport is a
04:44It's not a rich sport
04:46Most nang nakasama ko dyan
04:48Were not as well off as me
04:51So,
04:52Siguro it grounded me
04:54Nakita ko kung ano yung sitwasyon talaga
04:57Na hindi pala lahat ng tao patulad ko
04:59So,
05:00At an early age
05:01Na-realize ko yun
05:02So, I think
05:04Nakatulong yun sa akin
05:06Yung pagiging grounded
05:08Kung tinitin na natin si Sir Hadley
05:10Hindi mo akalain na meron siyang ADHD before
05:14Hyperactive
05:15Talaga,
05:16Tinipigilan ko kaya sa hindi mo ngayon
05:18But really, yung mga taong may ADHD
05:20Is unable to focus
05:22Pero tapaka focus naman
05:24Talaga ba?
05:25Pero eto nga eh
05:26Na-mention nyo kanina
05:27Na growing up
05:29Na-witness nyo si Lafarlo Biado
05:31And sila Yohan Chua
05:33How proud are you of them right now?
05:36Na talagang dinodominate nila
05:37And they're performing very well in the world stage
05:42Siyempre, very proud ako sa kanila
05:44Kasi nung nakasama ko sila before
05:46Nang titraining sila
05:48Hindi pa sila ganun kagagalig
05:50Ngayon, nandiyan na sila, top players na sila
05:51Some of the players na tinrain nga ni Dad
05:55Example is si Dennis Urpulio
06:12I took, yung samahan namin, I took it for granted
06:15Na mag-galing pala tong kasama ko
06:17Sana nagpursige pa ako maglaro
06:18Sige pa ako maglaro
06:19Pero kasi nung time na yun, I felt it was normal for me
06:23Part or part nase-feel ko may frustration
06:26Si Haddie
06:28Meron ba?
06:30Like you were already in that community
06:32Nandun ka na sa komunidad na doon
06:34Nandun ka na sa environment na yun
06:36Have you ever regretted na hindi ka nag-pursue
06:39ng Billiards professionally?
06:59Pwede ba namin malaman?
07:01Ano ba yung day-to-day routine nito ni Sir Haddie outside ng SBA?
07:05Ano ba ang pinagkakabalaan po ninyo?
07:07Wala masyado
07:09Kasi SBA is a start-up e
07:13So, it requires a lot of attention
07:16So, siguro 90% ng oras ko dun talaga napupunta
07:20Outside, siguro yung pagtulog, pagligo
07:25Hindi pwede mawala yun
07:26Pwede mawala yun
07:28Other hobbies
07:30Hobbies
07:32Siguro ano, I take time to walk
07:34Pagka ano, I make sure sa isang araw nakakapaglakad ako at this one hour and a
07:46Tingin mo ano yung pagkakabalaan mo ngayon?
07:49Nahihirap na tanong yan
07:51Siguro, construction
07:55Kasi college ko ay graduated na architecture
07:59I practiced 2 years
08:14Misayan, of course niya yun
08:17I was immersed in it for 2 years
08:19After that, I started the business, may construction ako before
08:23But the pandemic hit
08:25So, nung nag-pandemic, nawala lahat
08:40So, I think it was a blessing in disguise na rin
08:44Ito, Sir Haddie, since na-manage mo na yung SBA
08:47Nakita mo na yung growth
08:49Yung event mo na SBA
08:51Tapos ngayon palating na sa mga
08:53Pinang mga plano ka pang palakiin nito
08:55Pero ikaw, personally ba, Sir Haddie, ano yung tingin mong kinakailangan ng Billiards community
09:00Para mas maging mainstream sport pa siya?
09:02Like basketball or volleyball, mas maraming nanood, mas maraming tumakilik ng sport natin ito
09:07I think, siguro, we need to innovate pa yung sport
09:13Kasi to be honest, although I'm a fan of Billiards
09:16A lot of my friends, if not most of them
09:21Hindi nila na-enjoy yung sport, nakakatulad ko
09:24So, ang laging common nila, it's boring at saka parang very dragging siya kasi ito naman
09:32So, yun nga, with SBA, we introduced yung sharking element ng sport
09:38So, I think with these innovations, we try to make the sport more exciting for the fans, more engaging
09:44So, I think innovation talaga, yung pinakakailangan for the sport to become mainstream
09:52I remember with one of our interviews, ano nag one-on-one tayo
09:57Sabi ni Haddie, he wants to make Billiards the NBA
10:00And yung feel niya, yung parang football, yung crowd, yung reception ng crowd
10:05Intense crowd
10:07Yes, intense crowd
10:08So, so far, with the first season of SBA, nagkaroon tayo ng Philippine Open
10:12But entering na ito sa season 2
10:15Do you feel like, naka-capture natin yung ganong atmosphere?
10:19I think so, especially when you watch live, very intense na siya
10:23It's far from what we're used to watching, yung typical billiard tournament
10:30So, I think we were successful nung season 1
10:34To prove na billiards can be an exciting sport
10:38And an engaging sport for audiences
10:41Ito yung teammate, Miguel, yung very interesting talaga na Sharks Billiard Association
10:44Is yung sharking talaga, yung crowd is involved dun sa mismong game
10:56Sorry, billiard community naman, we have what we call yung purists naman
11:00So, syempre, sila yung traditional na kailangan tahimik yan, kailangan ganito
11:05May negative comments din sila, kasi nga, bago eh
11:09But I expect it, I expected that
11:12Kasi if you're trying to change something
11:13You expect na mayroong resistance kahit pa paano
11:17So, I think, eventually, I hope matanggap nila yung ginagawa
11:28So, maybe we can grow the sport more
11:31Napaka-interesting and rich ng life story ni Hadley
11:35Pero, with that, ano yung gusto mong maalala ng mga tao sa kwento ng buhay mo?
11:39Siguro, not really so much sa akin
11:45Siguro ang pinaka gusto kong maalala nila is yung SBA talaga
11:50Kasi yun yung legacy yun yung pinaka
11:53Parang, it's like saying, yung founder ng NBA, hindi naman natin kilala
11:58But the league itself, nandiyan pa rin siya after so many years
12:05So, I would rather yung tao maalala yung SBA rather than me personally
12:11Oh, I can see why
12:14Ang gusto ni Hadley is, maalala sa kanya ng mga tao is SBA
12:19After all, siya yung visionary behind this SBA
12:22Kung baka siya yung nagpauso, that's a baby
12:31And siyempre, invite all of them na panoorin ang SBA
12:34Patuloy pa rin suportaan ang inyong SBA
12:37So, para sa mga Billiard fans dyan
12:40Subukan nyo itong produkto namin, panoorin natin
12:44Free entrance naman kami, anyone can watch SBA
12:48Gusto ko panoorin yung live
12:51Para ma-experience nyo yung sharking, yung audience engagement
12:54Also, we are launching yung SEL Season 2
12:58It is the Sharks Executive League for Amateurs Working Professionals
13:03So, if you want to experience yung sharking, yung SBA format first hand
13:09While you're televised, you can join the SEL
13:13Just check our page, our FE page
13:16And you can join, you can register
13:19Ayan, maraming salamat, Sir Hadley
13:21Maraming salamat, and thank you again
13:25Nakasama namin kayo this morning
13:27Thank you
