00:00:16as he faces questions about accepting a luxury jet
00:00:18from the government of Qatar, pressed by our Rachel Scott.
00:00:21The serious legal and national security questions
00:00:24facing the president.
00:00:26Finally free.

00:00:33the last living American hostage held by Hamas,
00:00:36back with his family after 584 days in captivity.
00:00:40Massive delays at one of the nation's busiest airports,
00:00:45topping two hours with more flights canceled,
00:00:48as the transportation secretary says help is on the way.
00:00:52Wildfires raging, evacuations in place for parts of Minnesota,
00:00:56Florida, plus more than 20 million Americans across five states on flood watch.
00:01:01Ginger has the track and timing.
00:01:03A star witness set to take the stand in the Sean Diddy Combs trial,

00:01:44What we know about her condition.
00:01:48The Knicks one win away from knocking out the Celtics.
00:01:52That's good.
00:01:53Plus the latest on Jason Tatum's scary injury.
00:01:56And the Timberwolves one win away from eliminating the Warriors.
00:02:00Edwards for three.
00:02:01Of course.
00:02:03The question, will Steph Curry return?
00:02:07Live from Times Square, it's Tuesday.
00:02:10Good morning, America.
00:02:13Good morning, America.
00:02:14Big win for the Knicks last night, but a big loss for Boston last night with Jason Tatum.
00:02:19That was hard to watch.
00:02:21Also, we have Joe Buck and Troy Aikman.
00:02:23I think you know them, Michael.
00:02:24Look at those two handsome fellas.
00:02:26They're here live.
00:02:27Got big news on the upcoming season of Monday Night Football.
00:02:30They'll be here before we know it.
00:02:31We start with the breaking news overnight.
00:02:33President Trump has arrived in Saudi Arabia.
00:02:35The first stop on his four-day trip to the Middle East
00:02:37as he faces fallout over the plan to accept a luxury jet from the government of Qatar
00:02:41and other business deals for his family.
00:02:43Chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce is in Saudi Arabia with the president.
00:02:46Good morning, Mary.
00:02:49George, good morning.
00:02:50While President Trump is kicking off his first major foreign trip of his second term
00:02:53here in Saudi Arabia, welcomed here overnight with great fanfare.
00:02:57But he's already facing questions about the objectives of this trip
00:03:00and whether his plans to accept that luxury jet from a foreign nation is safe or legal.
00:03:07Overnight, President Trump touching down in Saudi Arabia, escorted by military jets,
00:03:12a lavish welcome for his first visit to the Middle East since his reelection.
00:03:16The president greeted by the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman,
00:03:20kicking off a four-day trip that includes stops in Qatar and the UAE.
00:03:24It's a region increasingly vital to the Trump family's own financial interests.
00:03:28His sons, who now run the Trump Organization, have lucrative real estate deals in the works in
00:03:33all three countries the president is visiting, including an exclusive golf resort and villas.
00:03:38The Trump cryptocurrency business also recently announced a deal including a two billion dollar
00:03:43contribution from an affiliate of the UAE. And the trip is raising eyebrows for that major gift
00:03:49the president is poised to accept from Qatar, a massive 7478 jumbo jet so opulently configured,
00:03:55it's known as a flying palace. I think it's a great gesture from Qatar, I appreciate it very much.
00:04:01The Qatari royal family planning to gift the Pentagon at an unknown date the luxurious 400
00:04:07million dollar plane to be retrofitted to serve as Air Force One for the remainder of Trump's presidency,
00:04:13a process that would likely carry a hefty price tag at the expense of American taxpayers.
00:04:18I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer. I mean, I could be a stupid person and say,
00:04:24no, we don't want a free, very expensive airplane. The plane would then be donated to Trump's
00:04:30presidential library right before he leaves office. The proposed deal, unlike any other,
00:04:35would almost certainly be the most expensive gift from a foreign nation to the U.S.,
00:04:40drawing serious questions about its legality. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who used to be a lobbyist
00:04:45for the Qatari government, says the gift is, quote, legally permissible and not a bribe,
00:04:50because Trump isn't giving Qatar anything in return. The president adamant when pressed by our
00:04:55Rachel Scott. Respectfully, sir, though, as a businessman, some people may look at this and say,
00:05:00have you ever been given a gift worth millions of dollars and then not received anything else?
00:05:04It's not a gift to me. It's a gift to the Department of Defense.
00:05:08But Democrats and members of the president's own party aren't buying it,
00:05:12saying the deal would violate the Constitution's ban on gifts from foreign heads of state
00:05:16and raising security concerns. Air Force One is the Oval Office. It's the press room. It's the
00:05:23Situation Room all in the air. Why on earth is it a good idea from a national security perspective
00:05:30to let another country, let alone the emir of another country, give President Trump his next Air Force
00:05:38One? He seems to intend to use it for Air Force One. Do you have security concern?
00:05:43Well, they better sweep that plane from front to back.
00:05:52Now, the president has a busy first day here in Saudi Arabia. He is slated to give remarks later
00:05:56at an investor forum with Saudi and U.S. business and tech leaders before attending a state dinner
00:06:01with both the king and crown prince. Robin. All right, Marriere, thanks to you. And now
00:06:05to the Trump administration reaching a deal with China, both sides agreeing to temporarily reduce
00:06:10their tariffs while they negotiate. The news sparked a stock market rally. Our chief business
00:06:16correspondent, Rebecca Jarvis, is tracking the latest for us. Good morning, Rebecca.
00:06:20Good morning, Robin. And the Dow surging more than 1,100 points on news of that,
00:06:24pausing cooling trade tensions with China, lowering the risks of a recession here in the United States.
00:06:30Stocks this morning pointing slightly lower.
00:06:35A surge of optimism on Wall Street following temporary tariff relief.
00:06:42Stocks soaring with the Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq posting their best day in over a month as the
00:06:49White House rolled back the 145% tariff on Chinese goods to 30%.
00:06:54I think it's going to be fantastic for China. I think it's going to be fantastic for us. And I
00:06:59think it's going to be great for unification and peace. Even with the relief, Americans still set to
00:07:04face price increases. The tariffs previously estimated to cost an additional $4,900 per household.
00:07:12But with the reduction, it's now $2,800. In April, the U.S. collected $16.3 billion in customs
00:07:20duties more than double a year ago, likely reflecting tariffs on steel and aluminum products from
00:07:26Mexico and Canada. These costs passed on to businesses and consumers. When asked if that
00:07:32145% tariff will go back into effect if a longer-term deal isn't reached with China,
00:07:38the president downplaying the possibility.
00:07:41No, but they would go up substantially higher. I think you will have a deal, however.
00:07:45And now some positive news on inflation this morning. A new report just out showing prices
00:07:51up 2.3% in April from a year ago. They are now at their lowest level in increases in the last four
00:07:58years. Gasoline prices now down almost 12%, though food and housing costs continue to climb faster.
00:08:05Economists believe the impact of tariffs will start showing up more in the next months. Michael?
00:08:11Thank you so much for that, Rebecca. And we're going to go overseas now to Israel. And the latest,
00:08:14on the release of the last American hostage held by Hamas,
00:08:18Idan Alexander was reunited with his family, you can see there, after 584 days in captivity.
00:08:24Our forward correspondent, Tom Sufi-Burge, is in Israel for us this morning. Good morning, Tom.
00:08:30Good morning, Michael. Yeah, Idan Alexander is now recovering at this hospital in Tel Aviv. Doctors
00:08:35say he's in good shape as his family celebrate his long-awaited release.
00:08:44Idan Alexander's mum waited 584 days for this moment.
00:08:49Her son, the last living American-Israeli hostage held by Hamas,
00:08:53finally freed and reunited with his family.
00:08:58Hugging his younger brother, amazed at how much he's grown.
00:09:01Just hours earlier, Idan surrounded by Hamas gunmen, handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza,
00:09:07then transferred to Israel and now recovering in hospital. The 21-year-old New Jersey native
00:09:12was serving in the IDF when he was captured by Hamas in the October 7 attack. He spent two
00:09:17birthdays in captivity. Oh, my God, Idan! Idan!
00:09:22Just after his release, his mother, Yael, speaking to her son by phone for the first time in 19 months.
00:09:30I love you, and I'm going to see you, like, soon. Very soon.
00:09:35Hundreds in his hometown, Tenafly, New Jersey, gathering to celebrate.
00:09:39And in Tel Aviv, cheers erupting. The Trump administration bypassing Israel,
00:09:46negotiating directly with Hamas, a prescribed terrorist organization, to secure Idan's release.
00:09:54Israel has already resumed military operations in Gaza after a short pause,
00:09:59but the Trump administration now indicating it wants a broader deal between Israel and Hamas to
00:10:04free more hostages and possibly end the war. And guys, here at the hospital,
00:10:08we're expecting to hear more from Idan's family in the coming hours. George?
00:10:12Okay, Tom, thanks very much. We're returning now to the wildfires raging in Minnesota,
00:10:16where some evacuations are in place. More than 20 million Americans across
00:10:19five states are on flood watch. Ginger tracking it all. Good morning, Ginger.
00:10:22Hey, good morning. So hot, dry, and windy. And you know that makes for wildfire conditions.
00:10:27Remember, International Falls, Minnesota, had their hottest May temperature on record.
00:10:30They were in the mid-90s. So you put all that together, you're going to have wildfires,
00:10:34several of them burning. The House Creek fire, this one, or the Camp House fire,
00:10:38excuse me, 1,200 acres, 0% contained. This one has already burned 40 structures,
00:10:43and there are still evacuations. They're going to reevaluate those today. But we've got red flag
00:10:47warnings mean that the fire danger is high because the relative humidity is low as 15%. Some of the
00:10:52wind gusts from Sioux Falls to Babinji, Duluth, right through most of Minnesota, will be 20 to 50
00:10:57miles per hour. Total opposite end of the spectrum, Siesta Key, Florida. A lot of places picked up three,
00:11:02four, five inches of rain really fast. And so even though a lot of Florida needs it,
00:11:07they were flooding. And we have flood watch now from Pennsylvania, Maryland,
00:11:10West Virginia, Virginia, right down through Raleigh and Fayetteville. We're going to be
00:11:13watching flooding there, and then severe storms I've got coming up, and all-time record May heat
00:11:17in Texas possible. Michael. A little bit of everything. Yes. All right. Thank you,
00:11:21Ginger. We're going to turn now to the problems at Newark Airport. More flights have been canceled,
00:11:25and the average delay into the airport is now more than two hours as the FAA works to fix the air
00:11:31traffic control issues. Transportation correspondent, Yael Benitez, is here with us with the latest.
00:11:36Good morning, Gio. Hey, Michael. Good morning. Yeah, we are still seeing dozens of delays. In fact,
00:11:40right now, we have about another 80 flights in and out of Newark canceled again today. That's what we
00:11:45could expect to see for a bit longer as they figure out how to deal with the tech issues and staffing at
00:11:49air traffic control. But a bit of good news here, okay? The Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy,
00:11:54says new fiber lines are being tested right now between New York and Philly. That's where the regional
00:11:59controllers are. He says that should be operational by the end of the month. Now, remember,
00:12:04it was just over two weeks ago when screens went dark at air traffic control. ATC workers couldn't
00:12:09communicate with pilots for about a minute, causing hundreds of cancellations, making matters worse.
00:12:14Other issues kept popping up as well. We've told you about that. The FAA now says it will form an
00:12:19emergency task force to look at Newark, even possibly shortening the air traffic control training
00:12:25for those controllers. Now, Newark is a major hub for United, and the airline has now sent this video
00:12:31that you're seeing there to customers from a pilot, reassuring them that pilots are trained to
00:12:35handle radar and communication outages, and that flights in and out of Newark are safe. So for now,
00:12:41United will keep flying fewer planes into Newark till this is all handled. Tomorrow, airlines will meet
00:12:47with the FAA to figure out what to do next. Robin? They do need to figure it out. All right,
00:12:51Gio. Thank you. Now, a high stakes hearing for the Menendez brothers. Their two-day resentencing
00:12:57hearing begins this morning, and it could set them one step closer to release. Chief national
00:13:02correspondent Matt Guttman is in Los Angeles with the latest. Good morning, Matt.
00:13:07Good morning, Robin. LHDA weighing in on the Menendez resentencing saga. And while he continues
00:13:12to refuse to say whether he believes the brothers were sexually abused, in our interview, he says his
00:13:17new stance on resentencing is not never, but not just yet.
00:13:21This morning, LHDA softening his stance, but still pushing against the release of Eric
00:13:28and Lyle Menendez. What we have said consistently over the last several weeks is that the issue is
00:13:33not never for the resentencing of the Menendez brothers. We said it's not yet.
00:13:38DA Nathan Hockman sitting down exclusively with ABC News ahead of that pivotal resentencing hearing
00:13:43this morning, saying a recent risk assessment by the California parole board, which designated the
00:13:48brothers a moderate risk shows they could be a threat to public safety. Assuming that the brothers
00:13:54do get parole and one of them moves next door to you, would you move out? I mean, would it cause
00:14:00you to relocate? Whether it's the Menendez brothers or anyone who basically engaged in a horrific,
00:14:08brutal killing of their parents, shotgunning their parents over 13 times when they were adults, 18 and
00:14:1421 years old, I would have concern whether it's the Menendez brothers or anyone that fits that profile.
00:14:20The judge in the case indicating he will take some of the parole board's assessment into account,
00:14:24but downplayed its overall significance. The brothers violations were mostly over possession
00:14:29of cell phones. The brothers defense team notes Eric has had a single write-up for violence
00:14:3425 years ago. Lyle has had none. The standard for the judge on a presumption
00:14:42on DA initiated is, are they likely to commit a super strike? Last time I looked, cell phones in
00:14:50prison are not a super strike. So in this case, a super strike would be a highly violent crime,
00:14:57like murder. Now, at this point, sources from both the defense and the prosecution tell me the judge
00:15:01is leaning towards actually resentencing the brothers. The big question is, will they testify?
00:15:06Why? I'm told it's not likely. Guys. Okay, Matt, thanks very much. Now my favorite part of the
00:15:11morning. Will Reed with a big smile on his face after the next big win. Yeah, my favorite part
00:15:15too, George. Good morning. And what I was trying to tell you yesterday, I got a little fatuts.
00:15:19James Longman had just met the Pope, so I was all, it was all chaos, is that teams in the NBA playoffs
00:15:24that are up 3-1 in a series go on to win that series 95.6 percent of the time. There you go.
00:15:30So the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away from the Steph Curry-less Warriors to win. They are now up
00:15:353-1 in their series. And that is also exactly where the New York Knicks find themselves today
00:15:40after their biggest win at Madison Square Garden in a quarter century. The crowd was electric and
00:15:45bold-faced. Spike, Stiller, two Jenners, and a Chalamet. The game was shaping up to be an all-time
00:15:50classic. Jalen Brunson, the man who's on his way to joining Michael Strahan on the modern New York
00:15:55Sports Mount Rushmore, had 39 points, leading the Knicks to a 121 to 113 victory. They are now
00:16:02one win away from their first conference finals appearance since 1999. That would be the huge
00:16:09headline of the day had Celtics superstar Jason Tatum not gotten injured late in the fourth quarter.
00:16:16Just such a sad scene. Tatum had been painting a masterpiece. Had the Celtics won it, it would have
00:16:20gone down as one of the great MSG performances of all time. He scored 42 points. But with under three
00:16:26minutes to go right there, you see him go down. He plants his right foot. He goes down and he stays
00:16:31down. He's writhing in agony. He left the court unable to put any weight on that right leg. He was
00:16:37seen here on a hallway camera being taken off in a wheelchair sobbing. There is no official word on the
00:16:43injury, but he'll get an MRI to the naked eye. It looks bad. It cast a pall over the night. Fans and
00:16:48players from both teams gutted. Tatum's teammate Jalen Brown saying, I have no words. Just crush him.
00:16:54Yeah. You know, you just hate to see a guy like Jason Tatum. One of my favorites to watch actually
00:16:58go down. And he was painting the masterpiece last night. He was balling. He's such a good dude and
00:17:03easy to root for. He's in that Superman commercial right now. Tough to see. But yeah, Knicks up 3-1.
00:17:09All right. Thank you, Will. Appreciate it. Coming up, we have an allergy season alert. If you feel like
00:17:14the season is getting longer, well, Dr. Karen Narula is here to tell us why and how you can find
00:17:18some relief. Also, Aaron Koturski has the details on the first day of testimony in the Sean Diddy
00:17:23Combs trial. He's at the courthouse. Hey, Aaron. Hey, George. Prosecutors say Sean Combs committed
00:17:28crime after crime. The defense says, well, maybe, but not the ones he's charged with. And a star witness
00:17:33set to testify today. All coming up on GMA. All right, Aaron. And the latest on Bindi Irwin's road to
00:17:39recovery, speaking from her hospital bed after surgery. The NBA season is coming to a close,
00:17:45so we got football to look forward to. Troy Aikman and Joe Buck are here with a big reveal about the
00:17:50upcoming season. Talk about that a little bit more when we come back. Stay with us.
00:17:58For the second time, the Vince Lombardi trophy is headed to Philadelphia. Eagles fly in Super Bowl 59.
00:18:05Welcome back to GMA. Do I really have to read this? Yes, you do. I do. Yes, you do. You have
00:18:13to talk about the Eagles in a positive way. What a moment for the Eagles getting another Super Bowl
00:18:20ring. Oh, how painful was that for you? Barry. I know it was. Congrats, Eagles. Congrats, Philly.
00:18:26There we go. There we go. Also, this morning, we have big news on the upcoming, it really did hurt
00:18:31on the upcoming season of Monday Night Football. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman. My guys.
00:18:36They're going to be here live. We are looking forward to that right now, though. We're going
00:18:39to get to the Sean Diddy Combs case. The jury was officially seated. Lawyers presented opening
00:18:43arguments. First witnesses took the stand. Chief investigative, of course, one of Aaron
00:18:46Katursky is at the courthouse with a star witness set to testify. Good morning, Aaron.
00:18:52Good morning to you, George Cassie Ventura and Sean Combs. For a time, we're an entertainment power
00:18:57couple. She's about to tell the jury about a darker side of that celebrity fantasy.
00:19:03This morning, the star witness, Cassie Ventura, set to testify in the federal sex trafficking trial
00:19:08of her ex. Hip-hop self-proclaimed bad boy, Sean Combs. How is Mr. Combs feeling? Um, upbeat. I think,
00:19:18you know, obviously, this is a huge deal, and so he's just ready to have his side told. Federal
00:19:24prosecutors wasting no time pulling back the curtain on what they say Ventura's life with
00:19:28Combs was really like, playing multiple versions of 2016 hotel security camera footage of Combs
00:19:33grabbing Ventura from behind, throwing her to the floor, stomping on her, and dragging her off.
00:19:38The first witness, LAPD officer Israel Flores, was working security at the hotel when he says he
00:19:44responded to calls of a woman in distress. He said Cassie had a purple eye and Combs offered him a
00:19:50sack full of money, telling me to take care of it. I just don't want people to find out. He didn't
00:19:55accept. Prosecutors said the beating is what happened when Ventura tried to escape a marathon
00:20:00sex performance with a male prostitute Combs called a freak off. Defense attorneys conceded what's
00:20:06depicted on video is dehumanizing and violent and terrible, but they argued it's evidence of jealousy,
00:20:12not sex trafficking. A male escort who said he was paid thousands of dollars to have sex with
00:20:17Ventura while Combs watched, testified that he saw Combs on another occasion get violent,
00:20:22hurling a bottle at her head and dragging her into a bedroom. He told the jury he did not intervene
00:20:27because this was someone with unlimited power, and chances are that even if I did go to the police,
00:20:33that I might still end up losing my life. Combs listened stoically with his arms at his side and
00:20:38his legs crossed, at times reading from a Bible. Bad boy never faked a switch on the set. Hey,
00:20:42this kids will be guessing. The fate of this one-time music kingpin is now with 12 jurors,
00:20:47eight men and four women, ages 30 to 74. The youngest is a deli clerk who says she doesn't
00:20:53watch the news. There's a social worker who listens to R&B and Afrobeats and a retired
00:20:58telephone lineman who recalled watching Combs on his hit reality TV show, Making the Band.
00:21:03Mrs. Combs, what did you think about today's testimony? The Combs family sat in court. Combs
00:21:08blew them kisses and smiled when he saw them. We not only see his children, we not only see his
00:21:13mother, we see a former partner also show up for him in court as well. Everyone who's watching from
00:21:19afar is taking in all these images and they're taking note of who's showing up. And that may
00:21:24ultimately help in the court of public opinion, which I think in some cases is going to be as loud
00:21:31as this actual court case itself. Combs' daughters walked out of court when the testimony became too
00:21:38graphic. The male escort will finish his testimony. Then Cassie Ventura will take the witness stand.
00:21:44She's pregnant, guys, and the judge promised to accommodate her by taking frequent breaks, guys.
00:21:48Okay, Aaron, thanks very much. Joined now by our ABC News Live contributor,
00:21:51Shana Loy. Shana, good to see you this morning. You've been in the courtroom every day. Where do
00:21:55things stand after opening statements? So opening statements, what we saw are that both sides agree on
00:22:00on several things. One, there was anger, jealousy, and infidelity on both sides. Now, what the
00:22:05prosecutors are alleging is that these incidents and this trafficking occurred because the individuals
00:22:11he were dating, they were forced and coerced into these sexual acts that they otherwise would not have
00:22:16taken part in. Now, the defense is alleging that these were consensual acts between adults and that
00:22:22there may have been instances of domestic violence. However, it didn't, it wasn't that they were there
00:22:27against their will. So very different stories, although the elements are the same. Which side
00:22:31has the stronger evidence? Well, right now, coming into this trial, we have the video. That video was
00:22:36very damaging because we actually get to see this sort of violence on display. Now, how people see that
00:22:41violence after they hear the evidence is changing because now we're hearing from the first witness who
00:22:46is alleged that the only time he believed that Cassie was under the influence was once out of all of the
00:22:52instances they were together. So as we get this framework, it is going to change the way people
00:22:56see it. Yeah. A lot of things that happened that we didn't expect. And you know, Cassie Ventura,
00:23:00she's got to testify today. Her husband was in court yesterday. They showed that video.
00:23:05How important on top of that video is her testimony? Her testimony is very crucial to the state's
00:23:11argument because what we have to remember is that video, everyone has seen it. And she is the most
00:23:15direct evidence of this force, coercion, and violence that they were saying she's been living under.
00:23:21And so being able to visualize that and then have her testimony is crucial to the state's case.
00:23:27We heard in Erin's report that some people had to walk out of the courtroom because of the graphic
00:23:31detail that they're hearing. How does that play with the jury? Absolutely. And we have to be so
00:23:36careful, Robin, because what we have to think about with jurors is that once they've been exposed to
00:23:40it, it's very shocking. But if we continue to expose them, they almost become desensitized. And so
00:23:46that can also play a role in how they frame that information later. When we're talking
00:23:50eight weeks, they've seen the same level of violence. They become much more desensitized to
00:23:55it. Interesting. Shannon, thank you. Thank you. We appreciate it. Now with an allergy season alert,
00:24:00it's lasting longer this year. And the Asthma and Allergy at Foundation of America, the annual report
00:24:06identifying the top 10 cities suffering the most. It's out right now with Greenboro, North Carolina at number
00:24:1110. And Wichita, Kansas coming up in the top spot. Our chief medical correspondent, Dr. Tara Narula is
00:24:17here with what people can do to cope. Dr. Narula, great to see you this morning. Good morning to you.
00:24:22Good morning. Okay. Why are they getting worse this year? And why are these particular cities
00:24:26being hit harder? Well, 20% of us suffer from seasonal allergies. And compared to 30 years ago,
00:24:31allergy season is starting 20 days earlier, lasting three weeks longer. And there's 20% more pollen
00:24:36floating around in the air. So if you're sneezing, you're not alone. And yes,
00:24:40Wichita tops the list for three years in a row. We see, we saw New Orleans jump from 34th to second,
00:24:46probably from hurricane Francine. And what does all this tell us? It's really climate change that's
00:24:49driving a lot of this pollen in the air. So global warming means we have shorter winters,
00:24:54earlier spring. So longer growing seasons for plants, more pollen, more of that carbon dioxide
00:24:58in the air from fuels being burned means the trees are going faster and bigger. The pollen is more
00:25:03potent. In addition to that, the rainstorms, changing wind patterns, smoke from wildfires,
00:25:08pollution and urbanization of cities affects us. And then there's something called the priming effect,
00:25:12where the temperature jumps really big from like 60 degrees to 90 degrees in a day. And that causes
00:25:17us to maybe be a little bit sensitive. And even our gut microbiome, the changes that we see there,
00:25:21may make us more sensitive to allergies. Because we were talking about,
00:25:24I never had them. Now I have them. And what can we do? What kind of relief can't we get?
00:25:28Yeah, well, the idea is to start early. So about two weeks before allergy season really starts,
00:25:33starting with medications and talking to an allergist. And so some of the things they might
00:25:36recommend. So nasal steroids, nasal washes, antihistamines, decongestants, even immunotherapy
00:25:41shots or tablets. And then there's practical things you can do. So that would be like washing
00:25:45your clothes when you come in, taking a shower, washing your sheets, checking the pollen counts,
00:25:49using air conditioners, closing windows, staying inside during the time where you see peak pollen,
00:25:54which is the early morning and midday, early midday hours, and then going out later.
00:25:59And then Lara Spencer and James Longman swear by honey, although that's controversial.
00:26:03But you can ask them about that. Not just them. A lot of people feel they do.
00:26:07They do.
00:26:08That's the controversy.
00:26:09Well, the science doesn't really back it up.
00:26:11But Lara and James say that it works.
00:26:12You eat raw honey?
00:26:13It works for you. It works for you.
00:26:15It exposes you.
00:26:16It exposes you.
00:26:16Yeah, yeah. It should be exposed to pollen.
00:26:19I love how you put the quotations.
00:26:20I'm going with the doc over here.
00:26:23I love honey, but no, no, thank you. I'm going with you, doc.
00:26:26I'm with her as well.
00:26:27Thanks, guys.
00:26:28Okay, and we'll have you back.
00:26:29Yes, I will be back.
00:26:30All right. Now, with the announcement you're going to hear first on GMA, who will be playing
00:26:34in one of the big Monday night football matchups of the 2025 season.
00:26:38Joining us now with the reveal of the two men who's going to call that game on ABC and ESPN.
00:26:42Give it up for Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, ladies and gentlemen.
00:26:46I know Strahan has been like circling the table over here.
00:26:49Back off, back off.
00:26:50It's good to see our old friend Michael over here.
00:26:53It sure is.
00:26:53Yeah, well, thank you for, you know, handing him off to us.
00:26:56Yeah, he's all yours.
00:26:58He's all yours.
00:26:58I'm sure. November 10th.
00:27:01November 10th.
00:27:01What are you doing November 10th?
00:27:03Week 10 of the NFL season, Robin.
00:27:04Watching you, too.
00:27:05Well, we will be in Green Bay, Wisconsin for the world champion.
00:27:10Fly Eagles, fly Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers, right?
00:27:14Smack dab in the middle of the 23 games that we will cover on Monday night football.
00:27:18Now you know what you'll be doing on November 10th.
00:27:20I know that.
00:27:21I'll be watching two great quarterbacks.
00:27:23That's right.
00:27:24Okay, talk about that matchup.
00:27:25Well, I mean, what the Eagles were able to do and Jalen Hurts is phenomenal.
00:27:28Obviously, they've been doing it for quite a while.
00:27:31I love that organization and what they've accomplished.
00:27:33And Jordan Love, you know, he's one of the bright young quarterbacks.
00:27:37A lot of those around the league when you look at the league and some of these good players.
00:27:41But yeah, that'll be great.
00:27:43When the other kind of storyline of that game is the fact that, you know, this whole tush push,
00:27:48it was the Packers who actually are trying, they were the ones, the biggest proponents
00:27:52in trying to get it taken out of the game.
00:27:55And so we'll see where that's at.
00:27:57It hasn't been ruled out yet, but there's a good chance we won't have it this year.
00:28:01And nobody does it better than the Eagles.
00:28:03That's right.
00:28:04Okay, you guys have whetted our appetite with that one game.
00:28:06We got to wait until tomorrow to hear the whole lineup, but just tell us some teams you're excited.
00:28:11Yeah, I mean, you're going to see the Cowboys and you're going to see the Chiefs and you're
00:28:16going to see the Lions.
00:28:17All of a sudden, every network wants the Lions, which is how, you know, to their credit,
00:28:22they've turned it around.
00:28:23He and I used to do Thanksgiving in Detroit every other year.
00:28:26It's like, oh my God, we're in Detroit now.
00:28:28It's like, oh my God, we're in Detroit, we get to watch the Lions.
00:28:31But you're going to see them, those are probably the three teams you'll see maybe a couple of
00:28:37times we're hopeful.
00:28:38But like you said, our appetite is whetted because we have no idea what the schedule is
00:28:43going to look like.
00:28:43We'll all find out together.
00:28:45Tomorrow, we're excited about that.
00:28:46But we're also excited, two years, the Super Bowl will be back on ESPN and ABC.
00:28:52Haven't had that in a couple of decades.
00:28:54You guys have called, what, six Super Bowls together.
00:28:56Yeah, we've called six.
00:28:58The last one we called was a while ago, you know, it was in Miami, I guess.
00:29:02And so we're excited about it as well.
00:29:04We've gotten used to a three-year rotation calling that game.
00:29:07So it's a big deal, obviously, for the network to be hosting the Super Bowl on ESPN.
00:29:13And it's going to be in Los Angeles.
00:29:15So the network already doing a lot building up for that.
00:29:20So that's going to be an exciting time.
00:29:21And we always, we can't bury the lead.
00:29:22I mean, he and I have called six.
00:29:24Right.
00:29:25He won three.
00:29:27That's kind of the, that was the lead.
00:29:30Yeah, it really was the lead.
00:29:32I'm contractually obligated to always throw that out there for my man right here.
00:29:38But yeah.
00:29:38I love you two together.
00:29:39I mean, this is what your fourth season for Monday Night Football.
00:29:42That's right.
00:29:43But 24th season, extending that record.
00:29:46Yes.
00:29:46We're like a married couple.
00:29:48Yeah.
00:29:48We're actually doing well for a married couple.
00:29:50But I have to say from the get go, you two just clicked.
00:29:55Was it that way?
00:29:57Yeah.
00:29:57Yeah.
00:29:57Well, you know, we've been through so much in our personal lives, in addition to professionally
00:30:02at the same time, we're roughly the same age.
00:30:04And I'm, I'm a little older.
00:30:06I know that's hard to believe, but, but yeah, it's been, it's been fantastic, you know, and
00:30:13we're really close friends.
00:30:14I think that comes across on the air.
00:30:16It's hard to believe we've been really fortunate because there's been a lot of broadcast duos
00:30:20that for whatever reasons, for reasons beyond their own control, that they don't get to
00:30:25continue to work as long as what we've been able to.
00:30:27So to be able to spend all that time that we did with our other network, and then to be able
00:30:32to come over here together, uh, with ESPN has, has really been phenomenal.
00:30:36We've been blessed.
00:30:37Well, we have been blessed.
00:30:38We've got 10 seconds left.
00:30:39Who's going to win the Super Bowl this year?
00:30:41Uh, I'm going to say Buffalo finally wins it.
00:30:43Ooh.
00:30:44Cowboys.
00:30:45Oh, how about that boy?
00:30:46Yeah.
00:30:47How about that boy?
00:30:48Yeah.
00:30:48Yeah.
00:30:49Come on, Stray.
00:30:49He's coming back over there right now.
00:30:52You know better than that.
00:30:53Uh, you can come on the back.
00:30:54You can come on the back.
00:30:54That's absolutely fantastic.
00:30:56You are.
00:30:56Thank you for taking the time.
00:30:57Thanks, Robin.
00:30:58And putting up with that guy over there.
00:31:00Yeah.
00:31:01We'll be back.
00:31:03Come on over, Michael.
00:31:05Good morning, Americans 8 AM.
00:31:08Wildfire is raging.
00:31:09Evacuations in place for parts of Minnesota, plus more than 20 million Americans across five states on floodwaters.
00:31:15Ginger has the track and timing.
00:31:18Kim Kardashian taking the stand.
00:31:20The reality star and business mogul testifying in Paris against the suspects in the 2016 jewelry heist.
00:31:27And how her childhood friend just described the ordeal in court this morning.
00:31:33Bindi Irwin speaking from her hospital bed.
00:31:35I just got out of surgery about an hour ago.
00:31:39The 26-year-old after getting her appendix out and 14 new endometriosis lesions removed.
00:31:46What we know about her road to recovery.
00:31:48I feel like dancing.
00:31:50I feel like dancing.
00:31:52And our friend Alfonso Ribeiro is here talking about the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars and his America's Funniest Home Videos milestone.
00:32:02As we say, good morning, America.
00:32:06Live from Times Square, it's Tuesday.
00:32:09Good morning, America.
00:32:10Good morning, America.
00:32:12Good morning, America's always great.
00:32:14When Alfonso is in the building, we're excited about having him here this morning.
00:32:17And we're also glad that Tori Johnson is here, too.
00:32:20Day two of a deals in Steele's Beauty Bonanza.
00:32:23This morning, she has terrific skin care products, all half off and all from small businesses.
00:32:29Looking forward to that.
00:32:29Also this morning, big news about the hit show, The Bear.
00:32:31We have the details in pop news.
00:32:34But first, we're going to look at the top stories breaking at 8, starting with the wildfires in Minnesota,
00:32:38where some evacuations are in place.
00:32:40Ginger, you know she is tracking it all for us.
00:32:42Good morning, Ginger.
00:32:43Good morning to you, Robin.
00:32:43Many of these fires are burning in northern Minnesota, north of Duluth, like this one here, Jenkins Creek Fire.
00:32:48But also, the Camp House Fire, now at 1,200 acres, 0% contained, has already burned 40 structures.
00:32:55So this is impacting people.
00:32:56There are evacuations.
00:32:58They'll reevaluate those today.
00:32:59But difficult conditions.
00:33:01Talking about relative humidity, as low as 15%.
00:33:03Everybody that you see highlighted most of the state of Minnesota, down to Sioux Falls here,
00:33:08included in those red flag warnings.
00:33:10So some of the wind gusts could be 20 to 50.
00:33:12Any fire that starts or is already going is going to have a tough time getting under control.
00:33:16That'll change eventually.
00:33:17But Siesta Key, Florida, has a total different end of the spectrum.
00:33:20A lot of places ended up with three to seven inches of rain falling really fast.
00:33:23And the same system is now pushing through the mid-Atlantic.
00:33:26North Carolina, from New Bern to Boone, have flood watches that now go up into Pennsylvania,
00:33:31West Virginia, Maryland, and much of the center of Virginia.
00:33:34This storm system is going to push through right to us.
00:33:36We'll be feeling those showers today.
00:33:38And tomorrow, onshore flow from the ocean, too.
00:33:40Coming up, I'll show you the all-time May records possible in Texas,
00:33:44but also severe storms for Chicago, George.
00:33:46Okay, Ginger, thanks for returning now to the first members of South Africa's white minority
00:33:50arriving in the U.S. as refugees under a policy introduced by the Trump administration.
00:33:54Our senior political correspondent Rachel Skart is here with the story.
00:33:57Hey, Rachel.
00:33:57Hey, George.
00:33:58Good morning to you.
00:33:58Well, the Trump administration has made it virtually impossible for many refugees to come to the United
00:34:03States, but the president is making a special exception for a group of 59 white South Africans
00:34:09who have now been granted refugee status.
00:34:12They arrived at Dulles Airport just outside of Washington, D.C. on a charter flight
00:34:16that was paid for by the U.S. government.
00:34:18The Trump administration approved their applications in just under three months.
00:34:22That is much faster than the normal process, which can take years.
00:34:26The president and his top advisor, Elon Musk, who is South African, have made allegations
00:34:31that white farmers in the country are being discriminated against under land reform policies.
00:34:36Now, South Africa's government says those policies are necessary to remedy the legacy of apartheid
00:34:41and calls the allegations of discrimination unfounded and completely false.
00:34:46The Episcopal Church, which has worked for decades to resettle refugees, says they will not be helping
00:34:51this time around, calling it painful to watch one group of refugees receive preferential treatment
00:34:57over many others who have been waiting in refugee camps or in dangerous conditions for years.
00:35:03But the White House says this is the beginning of a much larger relocation effort, guys.
00:35:07Yeah. Will it be just from South Africa? Will it be other countries where you have other minorities?
00:35:13And that's the point that many Democrats are making, that there are a lot of refugees who have
00:35:17been waiting in camps and conflict areas as well in Africa. But right now, the Trump administration
00:35:23particularly focused on this group of South Africans.
00:35:26Every day gets more interesting. Thank you. Thank you, Rachel. Appreciate that.
00:35:30We're going to turn now to Kim Kardashian in Paris and taking a stand against 10 suspects who
00:35:34prosecutors say tied her up and stole millions of dollars in jewelry from her in a 2016 heist.
00:35:40Maggie Rooley has more for us. Good morning, Maggie.
00:35:42Hey, Michael. Good morning. Yeah, we just saw Kim Kardashian walking into that courthouse.
00:35:47Her mother, Kris Jenner, there by her side for support as
00:35:50Kim stopped to give a small wave to the crowd before walking in.
00:35:54Now, Kim is testifying and reliving that terrifying night from nearly a decade ago.
00:36:01This morning, Kim Kardashian walking into court, testifying for the first time in front of the
00:36:06men who she says she believed were going to kill her. Nearly 10 years ago, five masked armed robbers
00:36:12dressed as police, breaking into her hotel during Fashion Week in 2016, binding and gagging her,
00:36:18holding her at gunpoint, and stealing more than $6 million in jewelry.
00:36:23They said, you know, where's the rapper's wife? Like, let us up to her room, um, in French.
00:36:29At the time, Kim opening up about the robbery on keeping up with the Kardashians.
00:36:33I'm like, are we going to die? Are they going to kill us? And I was just like crying and like,
00:36:40tell them I have babies.
00:36:4210 suspects have been charged. One 78 years old, leading French media to call them the grandpa
00:36:48robbers. Eight deny any involvement. Fashion designer Simone Harouch, her close friend since
00:36:53childhood, taking the stand earlier today to testify that she could hear terror in Kim's voice
00:36:59at the time of the robbery, saying, it was a sound I never heard from Kim. Recounting hearing
00:37:04Kim tell the robbers, I have babies and I need to live. Take everything I need to live.
00:37:10It's believed the criminals used Kim's own social media accounts to determine where she was and when
00:37:15to rob her. The reality star posting these real-time updates from her exclusive Paris hotel suite,
00:37:21showing off a 20-carat ring gifted by her then-husband, Kanye West. Kim acknowledging that
00:37:26her constant sharing made her a target during an interview with the New York Times in 2019.
00:37:32People really knew my every move. They knew what I had. They knew where I was, what I was doing.
00:37:37And that, to me, really changed maybe the things that I post.
00:37:42And today is the only day that Kim is set to testify. But guys, the entire trial could take
00:37:46up to a month. Guys.
00:37:48Okay, Maggie, thanks very much. Coming up on our GMA morning menu,
00:37:50Benny Irwin speaking from her hospital bed about her medical emergency and her road to recovery.
00:37:55Also, head, graduation season is in full swing and some big names have stepped up at some ceremonies,
00:38:01including Usher. Yeah. You'll want to hear his message.
00:38:05Also, head, you're invited to a family gathering. I got together with my big brother and sister
00:38:10to talk about the new children's book that they've written about our mother's childhood and her love of music.
00:38:17And Lara, know you've got a special guest.
00:38:18Show now.
00:38:19I was just asking him for moves. He will not do the Carlton.
00:38:24No, I'll do it. You know, I'll be here, you know. I'll do that.
00:38:27We'll talk Dancing with the Stars. We'll talk America's Funniest Home Videos. We will not talk
00:38:34about the Carlton. Alfonso Rivera is here with us live on Good Morning America. Get ready for some fun.
00:38:40You can all hear it. You know, there. I'll do that, you know.
00:38:51Good day tomorrow here on GMA for 5K.
00:38:54There you go.
00:38:56Another slow clap.
00:38:59Rain or shine.
00:39:00Yes, we're training.
00:39:01Rain or shine.
00:39:01We're running.
00:39:02That's right.
00:39:02And the trainer, James McMillan, is going to be here to help everybody with a final stretch.
00:39:06It's not too late to join in the fun. If you want, just scan the QR code on your screen.
00:39:10I thought you said not too late to creep and back out.
00:39:14Well, that's another way of joining the fun, right?
00:39:18We're going to have a good time. We're going to have a good time tomorrow.
00:39:20But now we've got our GMA cover story.
00:39:22We have Bindi Irwin speaking from her hospital bed after surgery.
00:39:26Rhiannon Alley is here with the latest on the 26-year-old's road to recovery.
00:39:29Good morning, Rhiannon.
00:39:30Hey, good morning, Robin.
00:39:31Two years ago, Bindi Irwin revealed she was battling endometriosis.
00:39:36Now she is dealing with that and another health scare, a ruptured appendix,
00:39:40missing an event to honor her late father,
00:39:42instead having to fly to New York to deal with the medical emergency.
00:39:47I'm sorry if I'm a little out of it in this video.
00:39:51This morning, Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late environmentalist and crocodile hunter Steve Irwin,
00:39:56is speaking out from her hospital bed about her recent health scare.
00:40:00I just got out of surgery about an hour ago. I had my appendix removed. I also had 14 new
00:40:12endometriosis lesions that had to be removed. And they kindly stitched up my hernia as well.
00:40:21The 26-year-old conservationist canceling her appearance at the Steve Irwin Gala due to a medical
00:40:27emergency, revealing, after many months of a grumbly appendix, I finally had to seek help,
00:40:33adding, surgery was a success. Research shows 11% of women ages 15 to 44 suffer from endometriosis in
00:40:42the U.S., a condition where tissue that normally lines the uterus is found outside the uterus.
00:40:48Bindi now recovering, again thanking everyone for their support. I just wanted you to know that I'm
00:40:54on the road to recovery one step at a time. And I am, I'm so lucky to have so much love in my life
00:41:04from my beautiful family. We are so glad she's recovering. She goes on to say she is sending
00:41:10love and light as she works to get through this. Her mom also missed the event to be by her side.
00:41:15And Robin, she is really dealing with a lot. She really is, Rhianna. Thank you so much for coming
00:41:19in and sharing that with us. All right, Dr. Tara Narula. Oh my goodness. We're glad that she's on the
00:41:25road to recovery. She, she referred to something about being a grumbly appendix. When do you know
00:41:31it's a serious problem or, or so much more than that? You may not always know. And that can be the
00:41:36tricky thing about appendicitis. So we think about kind of the classic symptoms, but not everybody presents
00:41:41that way. And so when you think about pain that might start around your belly button and then
00:41:45kind of migrates down to the right lower side of your abdomen, pain that's worse if you cough or move
00:41:50or you touch that area, nausea, vomiting, change in bowel habits, fever, lack of appetite, change in your
00:41:57urination. Some of these could signal that there's a problem, but it's always better to err on the side
00:42:01of caution with the appendix because it can perforate and rupture and then you can become really sick
00:42:06really fast. And I've heard that from so many people. So if you think you have any of that,
00:42:10go to the ER. All right. Endometriosis. This is her second surgery for that. Just, just speak upon
00:42:17this and what women should know. Endometriosis can be a really difficult disease because the
00:42:21diagnosis can be missed. And then even when it's found, sometimes it can come back. So you heard
00:42:26about surgical treatment. A lot of women who have surgery for endometriosis have to go back and have
00:42:30surgery again. And that can be because they have a more severe form of endometriosis. That can be because
00:42:34they didn't see all the lesions the first time and that there was still left there after the first
00:42:39surgery. And sometimes we treat women with hormones or birth control pills after surgery to try to
00:42:44prevent that from happening. But even in that setting, it can recur. So, you know, it's not uncommon
00:42:50to see women have a surgery and they need another surgery. And in fact, also speaking of the appendix,
00:42:54the endometriosis can involve the appendix as well. And sometimes the appendix will be taken out
00:43:00for endometrial surgery, either preventatively to prevent it from involving the appendix or from
00:43:05there being confusion down the road when you have belly pain. Is it the appendix or the endometriosis?
00:43:09So sometimes those surgeries actually combine. I'm so glad we're talking about this. It doesn't
00:43:13get talked about enough. And it's so many women who are dealing with it. That's right. And it's a big
00:43:16cause of infertility for a lot of women. All right. Dr. Narula, as always, thank you.
00:43:22Time for pop news with Lara. Robin, get over here. Come on, let's do it, everybody. Pop news time. And we
00:43:26begin with television news. It is the May upfront, which means that we all get to hear about new shows
00:43:32and some of our favorite shows coming back, like The Bear. Yes, Chef. Season four now has a premiere
00:43:40date. The Emmy-winning series will be back next month. And yes, Michael Strahan, I'm excited.
00:43:45I can see. Carmi, Sidney, Richie will all face new challenges in the kitchen and in the front of house
00:43:51at their restaurant. All 10 episodes that make up season four will drop on June 25th on Hulu.
00:43:58And another series getting ready to launch, I use that term for a reason, on Hulu is called
00:44:04Alien Earth. It's a show inspired by the Alien film franchise. It's a new sci-fi drama where a mysterious
00:44:12deep space vessel crashes onto Earth, unleashing the planet's greatest threat. Alien Earth premieres
00:44:20August 12th. And then this fall, Ethan Hawke will star and executive produce in The Lowdown about a
00:44:26citizen journalist whose obsession with the truth gets him in all kinds of trouble. The Lowdown premieres
00:44:33September 23rd on FX and it streams the next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus. You can see it in
00:44:39lots of places. All of these shows sound great. And we'll hear about more shows as the week goes on.
00:44:44All right. Now, what a night in New York City. Will, Will told you about it before, but did you see
00:44:49this? Thousands of Knicks fans watching the big game on a big screen outside of Madison Square Garden
00:44:56on 7th Avenue. And then they shut down 7th Avenue after the Knicks won it in another comeback. If fans
00:45:02were in the right spot, they might have seen a lot of stars leaving the arena. Check out the star power
00:45:08court side where SNL's Tracy Morgan was sitting next to his former 30 Rock castmate, Tina Fey. Also on
00:45:16Celebro, as they call it, there's Timothee Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner sporting Knickerbocker gear,
00:45:22as was Nick's super fan Spike Lee and there's Bad Bunny. Cardi B was there. And wait a minute,
00:45:30who's this guy? There's Michael Stray. Cheering on his Knicks with his pal Charles Udy. How was the
00:45:39game, Michael? Fantastic. Was it so much fun? Yes. I was always. Always. We were watching. I saw you.
00:45:45I was like, there he is. All right. Chalamet took to Instagram sharing these photos. 15 years apart,
00:45:51you guys. 14-year-old Timmy C meeting his hero, six-time all-star Amare Stoudemeyer,
00:45:56and then getting to reunite with the Knicks legend after last night's win. Next game for the
00:46:01Knicks and Celtics tomorrow night with the Knicks now leading three to line. Games in Boston.
00:46:06Games in Boston. Let's go. All right. Graduations are getting underway across the nation. I've got
00:46:11one coming up. And some big names have stepped up to participate in commencement ceremonies. We're
00:46:16going to start with Northeastern in Boston. Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, and Blackpink's Rosé sent surprise
00:46:22messages to graduates. And then we're going to shift gears now. At Emerson College, also in Boston,
00:46:29White Lotus star and Emerson alum, Jennifer Coolidge was the commencement speaker, and
00:46:34she always does such a great job. Check this out. When you find the thing that you want to do,
00:46:41uh, I really want to highly recommend just frigging go for it. It's very simple advice.
00:46:51Highly recommend it. Do it. Highly recommend. Down in Georgia, Emory University students were saying,
00:46:56yeah, yeah, yeah, because eight-time Grammy winner Usher gave their commencement address yesterday.
00:47:03What fun. I need great advice as well. Take a look. Does a diploma still matter? Yes,
00:47:11of course it matters. But it's not the paper that gives the power. It's you.
00:47:21And we cannot wait to see what Snoop Dogg has to tell graduates. He's set to do
00:47:26the honors at USC at their Marshall School of Business. One can only imagine. I'd like to be a
00:47:33fly on the wall. The Fonz, Henry Winkler does the commencement address at Georgetown on Saturday.
00:47:38Elizabeth Banks is speaking at UPenn. And Kermit the Frog rounding out with some words of wisdom
00:47:45at the University of Maryland. Congratulations. It's all graduates, including my Duff.
00:47:49Yes. Congratulations. And Elliott. Yes. Congrats, George.
00:47:54That's huge. Oh, I see some tears coming out. The girls are growing up. Oh, it's one of my
00:48:01favorite times. Time for deals and steals. It's day two of our beauty bonanza. And I love it so much
00:48:06because I get to hang out with Tori Johnson, who is here at Products, to keep you glowing all 50% off,
00:48:12Tori, which is amazing. And all from small businesses. All from small businesses, all phenomenal products,
00:48:16all viewer favorites, starting with Oak Essentials. They are all about supporting graceful aging with
00:48:23visible results. So we love that. One of their signature products is this one right here. I'll
00:48:27give you this one. That is their Moisture Rich Balm. And just a teeny little bit, if you swirl your hand
00:48:33there, it is unbelievably hydrating. It feels fabulous. You would use this, you could use it on your face.

00:48:47left with with this. All the whole line is made in America. All cruelty free, all good for you
00:48:53ingredients, all 50% off starting at $14. So it's really priced excessively too. And since I use that one,
00:48:59I got it. That one's yours. That one's yours. Okay, Mara, this is algae infused skin care. We've got a lot of the
00:49:06favorites. One of the ones that I love, first, their packaging is gorgeous. And I know you are a
00:49:10pro on packaging. Just a teeny bit of that. Don't let it go all over. That is the Sea Sculpt body oil.
00:49:16So you could just put that, it like sinks just really beautifully into your skin. It's also got a
00:49:21really nice scent, but it's awesome for hydration. You can put that on your elbows, your arms,
00:49:27feels fabulous, but it's good for your skin. We also have this one right here, the clear mineral,
00:49:33um, clear mineral milk. I want to say the whole name, right? This one right here,
00:49:37this little bottle here is great for both acne as well as aging gracefully. We've got this one
00:49:43is one of their newest and viewers asked me specifically to bring this. So this one's for
00:49:47you guys. This one's the pearl peptide glaze. It's a three in one that's going to replace an essence,
00:49:54toner and serum. That's great for the skin barrier to help produce collagen. And again,
00:49:59leaving a great glow. Um, the packaging's gorgeous, but the products are even better.
00:50:04Everything's slash in half starting at $13. All right. Great deal here. Okay. Uh, brush on block.
00:50:10This is cruelty free mineral skincare. That is sunblock. That is good for you, for the environment,
00:50:17for the oceans, for animals, because it's got none of the ingredients that would be damaging. Um,
00:50:22it's a little powder that comes in a brush just like this, that you can use either without makeup
00:50:27or on top of makeup. Either way, you get your sun protection, SPF 30 or 50, depending on the product
00:50:33that you choose. We also have their really great lip oils that I love because you get a great color
00:50:38as well as SPF 30. Lips require protection too. Yes, they do. All slashed in half starting at $9.
00:50:45Oh, we like that cheap. Yes. Okay. Just 10 minutes a day. You can show that show that you can see that
00:50:51light to the camera, just 10 minutes a day for as few as three weeks to start seeing results from red
00:50:58and blue light therapy. We've got everything from the mask for the face, the collar for the neck area,
00:51:04because this is an often neglected chest and neck area. And then the hat is really great to help to
00:51:10boost, um, scalp activity, which then is going to lead to thicker, fuller hair. Everything from LED
00:51:16aesthetics today is slashed in half, including their skincare. We should have Gary put the mask on.
00:51:21Here you go. Uh, this is Moon Oral Beauty. We've got their sonic toothbrush, five different speeds on
00:51:28that. What I love is tough on stains, but it's gentle on your gums. We also have their tooth whitening
00:51:35pen. This is great. Do you get that? Yeah. No, Keisha's over there. Keisha's laughing.
00:51:38Look at everybody good. They're like making damn jokes. Hey, they may not, my teeth may not be together,
00:51:43but they're clean. They are clean. If you want that brighter, wider smile, we also have the pen and the
00:51:48dissolving strips. All slashed in half starts at $15. And Zents. Zents is awesome because this is
00:51:55body care that's as sophisticated as your face care. So, uh, probiotic lotion with hyaluronic acid.
00:52:03I couldn't decide if I was going to give you the fig or the mandarin. These are both so good. You just
00:52:07spritz that. This is their cashmere body oil, but the soaps, the lotions, fabulous. Starts at $10.
00:52:13Tori, you did it. You got it all, man. Yeah. Oh, it smells so good. Despite you and Keisha.
00:52:19Well, you know what? Thank you, Tori. And we partnered with all these companies on these
00:52:22deals. You can go to our website to get them all. And, um, Tori's going to be back on Thursday
00:52:26where more Beauty Bonanza deals will be. Welcome back to GMA, live from Times Square.
00:52:33And back here in Times Square, I am really, truly excited to share this with all of you.
00:52:39Uh, my mother, Lucy Marion Toliver Roberts, was filled with music ever since she was a little,
00:52:45little girl. She used it to share joy, to inspire, and she uplifted people with her music.
00:52:50My sister Sally Ann, big brother Butch, wrote a children's book about that passion. It's called
00:52:55Lucy Sings on Lucy Street. I went down home to Mississippi to spend time with my siblings to
00:53:00talk about the book and our mother. Oh my goodness. This morning, a new children's book is out based on
00:53:10my dear mother's childhood and her love for music. We grew up with music in our household. You brought
00:53:17me through. Every time mom came home, whatever mood she was in, happy, sad, or whatever,
00:53:25she'd sit up at piano. And she would just play and sing. Lucy Sings on Lucy Street tells a story of
00:53:34resilience and hope, an idea my siblings brought to life. Written by Lawrence Roberts and Sally Ann Roberts.
00:53:43Oh, look at mama. Look at her. Lawrence, who we call Butch, and Sally Ann, compiling stories our mother,
00:53:53Lucy Marion, shared about her life as a young girl in Akron, Ohio. Mom shared a story with me. They
00:54:00were having their meager meal in the basement and mom pipes up and says, I have a little song in my
00:54:08heart and I'm going to sing it. And her father says, not at this table, Lucy Marion, we don't sing at the
00:54:15table. So she dutifully ate her food as quickly as she could. And then she asked to be excused and she ran up
00:54:22the basement stairs and she sang, this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine. And it brightened
00:54:32everyone in the room and it changed her life. In the book, eight-year-old Lucy uses music as a way to
00:54:41uplift during tough times, writing, life is filled with ups and downs. No matter what, keep a song in
00:54:48your heart, keep singing. Music's a universal language. There's something about that that just
00:54:54touches the heart, the spirit. And that's the one thing that that mom was able to do is to bring that
00:55:00spirit out. We had a mama and a daddy who shared their story, shared their legacy. Why Butch do you think
00:55:08it's so important to be able to pass that along? It is vital to know where we came from. I'm sort of a family
00:55:14historian. We all stand on someone's shoulders. But if we don't investigate, if we don't write
00:55:19these things down, if we don't share them with the family, they're lost forever. The picture book,
00:55:25set in 1932 during the Great Depression, also shares realities our mother faced growing up.
00:55:32Mama is a young girl. She sees her neighbors and they innocently say to her, can you wash the color?
00:55:37Because they had not seen someone who looked like mama. And mama laughs it off and says,
00:55:41can you wash off the freckles? Yes. She also found a way to build bridges with people.
00:55:46Yeah. She says that, you know, everyone is deserving of attention. Whether she necessarily
00:55:55agreed or disagreed, she paid attention. And her loving spirit crossed all barriers.
00:56:02Mama always believing in fostering children's strengths, a lesson that resonates in the book.
00:56:09She was just very, very supportive. I never heard her say, oh, that's not a bad idea. I don't think
00:56:13you ought to do that. Never heard that. Always heard encouragement.
00:56:16What we're hoping is that people will sit down with their children and help their children find
00:56:22their gifts. Every child has a gift. Your gift may not be singing, but whatever your gift is, as mom said,
00:56:28discover your gift and share it, share it. Great message.
00:56:36Well, you said it. Everyone has a gift. We all have a gift. So discover it and share it with the
00:56:41world. And I'm so proud of my brother and sister in this problem. First, I can't believe they work
00:56:45together because they felt like cats and dogs when we were growing up. But Sally had often said that mama
00:56:52would say there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I can say my mama was that light. She was that light
00:56:57for so many people who crossed her path. And so I'm very excited. And she will be again.
00:57:01Yeah, just a really sweet little book. Lucy sings on Lucy. She did grow up on Lucy Street in Akron,
00:57:06Ohio. And it's available right now in stores. And you can also scan the QR code on your screen
00:57:11to find out more. But thank you all for that. Congrats to your brother and sister. Way to go,
00:57:15Butch. Way to go, Sally Ann. Absolutely. Just in the nick of time. Can that man make an entrance or what?
00:57:24If the world only knew. If the world only knew. Well, you can tell us if you want.
00:57:29No, no, no, no.
00:57:30We're going to do it. America's Funniest Home Videos,
00:57:34Coast of Dancing with the Stars. Welcome back. It's great to see you. Good to see you guys.
00:57:3910 years on Funniest Home Videos. 10 years. Yeah, it's pretty incredible. I first need to start by
00:57:45saying today is my daughter Ava's birthday. Happy birthday, Ava. So Ava, Ava, happy birthday.
00:57:51Daddy loves you. Got to do that first. But 10 years, it's incredible. I'm out of breath because
00:57:56I just ran here, but we're not going to talk about that. It's really cool, you know, to be able to do
00:58:00the show for 10 years. And this last two weeks, the show has won the demo for the night on ABC,
00:58:08which is incredible. 10 years in to be able to do that. The ratings, the ratings. Yeah,
00:58:12to come back and be and be 10 years in and winning special, special. It's cool to be able to do it.
00:58:18But I still need to be Tom's record of 16 years. I got to get these 15. So I got to go 16. That's
00:58:23the goal. That's the goal. Is there a particular video that even makes you every single time you
00:58:28see it? You're like, oh, my goodness. Well, there's one video. The first season that I hosted,
00:58:33we have our $100,000 episodes. And I love the epic fails, right? And there was one video that won
00:58:39the first $100,000 episode. And it was a video of these two kids that one kid ultimately wanted to
00:58:46go on the slingshot ride. And he went on. And he was there to support his little brother. And the
00:58:52video starts. And he's like, I got you. I got you. Starts off. He's like, ah! And he passes out.
00:58:57And he passes out. And he comes, too. And he's like, ah! And then he passes out. And he passes,
00:59:02and he comes, ah! And he just, to me, that was like the perfect video. And nothing's ever beaten
00:59:07that for me. Well, we have an epic fail clip right now. Let's check it out. Some friends will always
00:59:14be around when you need help. And then there are the kinds of friends who will cause you to need help
00:59:19whenever they're around. Now, if you haven't guessed, that's the kind of friend you're about to see.
00:59:22Yeah, I'm just here to help. Nothing like volunteering to help a friend who has no idea
00:59:30what he's doing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know how these cameras just happen to be in the right
00:59:42place at the right time. But speaking of, speaking of. The re-camera's changed everything. No, the re-camera's changed everything.
00:59:48Everybody now has basically CCTV cameras all over the world right now.
00:59:53That's true. And another show you do a lot of cameras around Dancing with the Stars.
00:59:56Yes. So I am curious, are there any moments from Dancing with the Stars that should be on
01:00:01America's Funniest Home Videos? I would always say the one, because I don't know a lot of them,
01:00:05obviously. There's a lot of stuff that's happening. And typically when someone gets hurt,
01:00:08that's never a good thing that we want to show. But there was a situation on my season where
01:00:13I was doing a Batman routine. And I was supposed to do the zip line from the skybox all the way to
01:00:20the stage. And in rehearsal, it skipped. Right there. So I was literally hanging in the air
01:00:30with a cape on going, what am I, it's okay. I'm just chilling, just hanging out. And they brought a
01:00:37ladder. The ladder was too short. It was like, I was like, what you want me to do with that? I'm not
01:00:41jumping. And then they finally got a ladder. I was up there for probably a good, you know,
01:00:45five minutes hanging, you know, and it was a, luckily it was midway through the season. So I
01:00:49was already a little bit in shape because if it was early in the season, there was no harness.
01:00:54There was no harness holding. I was just holding on for five minutes. Yeah. Well, I think, I think,
01:00:59you know, being scared will, will make you do things. You know, the adrenaline was probably
01:01:04pumping really well, but I was ready to come down. I was ready and I, and I'm glad I didn't because
01:01:10my season would have been over and the whole world would have been different for me.
01:01:13How far in the air do you think you were? I was, well, it was a ladder that was too
01:01:16tall for them to, they couldn't get a ladder big enough initially. Right. So they brought a
01:01:20ladder. So I was probably like, my feet would have been, you know, by the lights, you know,
01:01:24which, which would not have been a fun fall. No, no, not at all. Well, we're glad you're okay.
01:01:30Yes. You probably would have won a prize, but I would, I might've won a hundred grand. Yeah.
01:01:33I might've won a hundred grand and a trip to Disneyland. We're so excited. We're so excited about
01:01:38dancing with the stars. We just heard Robert Bindi is going to be on. That's the only name
01:01:42we've got so far. Yes. Yes. Um, I, this is always kept well under wraps and it's a big season. It's
01:01:47the 20th anniversary. Absolutely. Uh, 20, is it 20 years? 20 years. Yeah. So it's the 34th season.
01:01:53Wow. 20 years. The show has been on the air. Incredible. It still endures. Uh, so since we don't
01:01:59know, I'm guessing you must have a say you're big, you're big dog over there. No, no. So who are your,
01:02:04who are your dreams? Well, I mean, listen, I think, listen, if you, if you're going to do
01:02:08the 20th season, right? 20th year, uh, 34th season, I think you start big, right? So, uh,
01:02:13something, so, so Will Smith, Will Smith, Will Smith, I'm asking you to come jiggy with it. Okay.
01:02:19So come on, but that would be, that would be pretty cool. That's a great one actually,
01:02:23but I don't think he's going to say yes. I don't think, but, but, uh, Jennifer Love Hewitt would be
01:02:27fun, right? She's a big fan of the show. She's got, she's on 9-1-1. She's on 9-1-1. So it's like,
01:02:32and she comes and she watches. So that would be someone that I think would be really fun to have
01:02:36on this season. I like that. You know, she's a, she's a big name. She's got a lot of, uh,
01:02:40a lot of personality. It'd be fun. Anybody in the sports world that, um, I mean, listen,
01:02:45listen, I think, I think if there was a guy, you know, I think if you played like for the,
01:02:49for the giants at one point in this life and, and cause you know, he'd bring the whole New York
01:02:53audience, right? Right. Oh, come on, come on right here, right here. You can do it. Come on,
01:02:59Mike. Straight hand. Come on. Come on. That's as much as you're getting. We need you, buddy.
01:03:03We need you. We'll get you a tall dancer to dance with you. It won't look so awkward. You know what,
01:03:07you know what I love about dancing with the stars? When they come here and I just get to
01:03:10interview them and I don't have to dance. That's the best part. No, no, it's less, that's less fun.
01:03:15My joints are too old and brittle. Listen, you come out there anyway. You're there on the weekends.
01:03:20You just stay an extra couple of days before you come home. This is the thing. This is what scared me.
01:03:24Every professional football player and athlete who's been on the show said it was the hardest
01:03:28thing they've ever done. If it was harder than football was for me, I cannot fathom it at this
01:03:34point in my life. Well, maybe some of those athletes, they weren't given their all in football. Okay.
01:03:39Maybe that's just, you know, I can't say for certain, but you know, maybe they didn't step up.
01:03:45You gave it your best. You gave it your best shot. You only tried. You only tried. George would do it, though, I have to say.
01:03:54Come on, George. You come out there and sell a little bit. Yeah, okay.
01:04:03He's not even going to try to bitch me. Season finale of America's Funniest Home Videos airs this
01:04:07Sunday at 7 East on ABC Streams the next day on Hulu. Now to the pain of the effect pain can have
01:04:14on your life. According to the National Institutes of Health, pain is the most common reason why
01:04:18people seek medical care. GMA lifestyle contributor Lori Bergamotto joined us with more on this. Good
01:04:24morning, Lori. Good morning, Michael. Pain is something we all go through, but it's not always
01:04:28something we create a plan around. This segment is sponsored by Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and I sat down
01:04:34with their spokesperson, former pro football player Alex Smith, to talk about his life-altering injury
01:04:40and his plan to tackle pain. Former professional quarterback Alex Smith understands what it means
01:04:47to be tough. A deep sack on Smith. Following this life-changing injury on the football field. Smith
01:04:53is hurt badly. What do you remember about that moment that you got injured? I remember my leg
01:04:59going fuzzy. It was a feeling I had never had before rolling over and seeing my leg bending where it
01:05:08shouldn't. I instantly knew my leg was broken. But at the same time, how naive I was thinking that for
01:05:16some reason that this wasn't a big deal and they would put me back together. Instead, multiple compound
01:05:20fractures in his lower leg leading to emergency surgery, followed by infection and potentially
01:05:26deadly septic shock. Doctors concerned amputation may be necessary. Were you prepared for how painful this
01:05:35would all be? No. No. I mean, nearly 20 surgeries and confined to a bed and a wheelchair for so long,
01:05:45skin grafts and transplanting tissue, and there's nothing you can do. These conversations were just
01:05:52such an afterthought, the pain side, the pain management side. As the spokesperson for our sponsor,
01:05:58Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Alex is opening up about how that agony impacted his life. How did you manage
01:06:05all that pain? I had a lot of trial and error, a lot of sleepless nights. Pain is so personal. It was
01:06:10overwhelming, most of all for my wife. I mean, as we got discharged from the hospital, I mean, the bags
01:06:16and bags of prescriptions, you know, and one of them is a rescue medication because of, you know, the opiates
01:06:24that were prescribed to me. After a grueling recovery, Smith made his return to the field
01:06:30nearly two years after his injury. He is back out here to play quarterback.
01:06:37Now, he's sharing his story in hopes of inspiring others to be proactive about pain.
01:06:42It's a part of the human experience, right? Like, sometimes it's expected. Sometimes you have surgeries
01:06:46lined up and you know they're going to happen, but a lot of times it's not. You know, it encourages
01:06:49people to ask about the options out there, right? Including non-opioid options. Have these
01:06:55conversations with their care teams, with their doctors. There's a website, paingameplan.com.
01:07:01And for anybody dealing with pain that has questions, there's so many resources on there
01:07:06to help steer this conversation, right? To empower people, take control of this.
01:07:12And thanks to Alex and thanks to our sponsor, Vertex Pharmaceuticals.
01:07:16To learn more about creating your own pain plan, head to GMA's social pages for more information.
01:07:21Yeah. Alex, everything he went through, just so incredible.
01:07:24Unbelievable.
01:07:25Incredible to come back from that.
01:07:26Great to see him out there doing this, trying to help people. And coming up,
01:07:30James McMillan is getting us ready for the GMA 5K. There he is. Stretch it out, James. Stretch it out.
01:07:36All right, we're less than 24 hours away from the GMA 5K. Robin, are you ready? We've got James
01:07:48McGillan-Million here from Tone House to help with the final push. We're so happy to have you on.
01:07:53Yes, I'm happy to be here.
01:07:54Yeah, so let's talk about it. We know about the physical. What do we need to do to get mentally
01:08:00ready for, you know, if we're going to take this on, whether we're walking or running?
01:08:04Yes, so it's a fun run. It's a fun run. Yes, you have to have fun. So I will always say,
01:08:09progress over perfection. Just take that step forward. Give yourself grace. And one thing I
01:08:14want you to focus on is your breathing. Your breath is your home and that will help you in your run.
01:08:18Holding your breath, not a great idea. No, don't hold your breath. So you want to breathe
01:08:22into your belly. So I'll show you a technique. You want to inhale the positive energy into your belly,
01:08:27fill it up like it's a balloon, and then exhale the negative energy, and you move through that.
01:08:32Do that in your run as well. And think about, I want you to avoid thinking about going for a PR
01:08:39and try to just get that run on and have fun with it. Wait, going for a what?
01:08:43Don't go for a PR. Yeah, yeah. Unless you want to challenge yourself, you can do that.
01:08:47Okay. All right. All right. So let's talk about the physical a little bit. How do we make sure
01:08:53that our bodies are ready? Obviously, sleep is important, but what else can we do?
01:08:57You want to work on mobility and stretching. You got to stay loose. You got to loosen up those
01:09:02joints to prevent injury. So I'll show you some movements. Two movements. Okay. We have the
01:09:06world's greatest stretch. It's going to loosen up your hip flexors, your glues, your thoracic spine.
01:09:11So you want to raise your hands up to the ceiling. You want to say, good morning, America.
01:09:16Walk it all the way out, high plank position, engage your core, bring your right foot
01:09:20to your right hand, drive that hip towards the floor, rotate, raising all the way up,
01:09:26loosen up that thoracic spine, come right back to base, bring that foot back, inchworm it back,
01:09:31raise back up to the ceiling. Try to do that. Obviously both sides. Yes, both sides. Two rounds,
01:09:3630 seconds. The next thing. Hold it, hold it up at the top for 30 seconds? Yes, you want to hold it for
01:09:40a second, come right back down, elbow to your ankle. Okay. And how many reps? We're going to just do 30
01:09:46seconds of flowing and moving. Oh, okay. Oh, so it's more, it's not about the number,
01:09:49it's just about the flow. No, no, we're flowing. Okay. Next up, we're going to do leg swings. So if
01:09:53you have a wall for stability or your thunder buddy, so you can hold my arm right here, you're just
01:09:57going to swing back and forth, loosen up your abductors, adductors, as well as forward and back.
01:10:03This will help with your stride efficiency. I do this before tennis. Yes. Yeah. Dynamic stretching,
01:10:08it's a key. So next up. And then real quick food, because we only have about 10 seconds. Yes, yes. If you have to eat
01:10:12one thing, because we only have a little bit of time. I would say, get some lean protein, complex carbs. So we have chicken
01:10:17breasts. We have sweet potato lentils, some veggies and things like that. All right. We're ready.
01:10:23Yes. We're ready. Thank you so much. All right. Let's have fun. Join us on the run, everybody. We're
01:10:27talking dog diets here. Yes, we are. Have a great day.
