It's a great example of humanity. And a bad example of how urban environments can harm wildlife.

Jack Kelly, a 21-year-old young lad, was on a walk with colleagues in Sauchiehall Street when he spotted a gull in distress. Driven by "liquid courage" he decided to take action. The video, filmed by Mr Douglas who works at Box Glasgow, shows Kelly deftly climbing a pole and freeing the gull.
