3D Special FX
I gathered here some pictures and animations I created two years ago, during my first intership as a 3D artist and my last semester at the university of Hannover, in the Institute of Creative Design and Architectural Drafting.
I cover some interesting effects you can create with your favourite 3D package (Maya, 3ds Max,...) and a good rendering engine (mentalRay, vRay, finalRender,...).
You'll see some example of light effects: caustics, soft shadows, colour bleeding, global illumination.
Some water effects: realistic water from bump maps, Maya ocean.
Some smoke, fire and explosion effects.
And finally some cartoon effects, with toon-shading techniques.
