Shen Yun Performing Arts show at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis left some musicians, like Lyrika Holmes, thinking about the effect of the Shen Yun Orchestra.

[Lyrika Holmes, Singer and Harpist]:

“I loved the combination of the Western and the Chinese orchestra together. I loved that, because that gave it more of an authentic touch."

Scott Lane is the owner of a music store in Memphis and former professional musician. He sat at the very front of the theater.

[Scott Lane, Music Company Owner]:

“And we’re very lucky, so I would suggest to anyone that comes, ‘get an orchestra seat,’ because you get to watch the pipa and all the fantastic Chinese instruments. It’s just wonderful.”

Mr. Lane says Shen Yun's musicianship is tremendous.

[Scott Lane, Music Company Owner]:

“The expert playing, the choreography and the arrangements. The musicianship is tremendous. And the way the music was laid out and the coordination, I can’t believe how well it’s put together.”

Jim Egner, a development coordinator at a local radio station, says the Shen Yun performance is "dynamite."

[Jim Egner, Local Radio Station Employee]:

“It’s just a lovely show. My grandchildren here really enjoyed it. And the motion is just absolutely priceless, they just float. They have the ability to create images that are just magnificient, especially with color and motion. It’s dynamite.”

[Larita Webb, Business Owner]:

“I thought they were phenomenal. Very hard poses they had to be in excellent shape in order to do it so. Everything was grade A.”

[Elestair Macgrego, Medical Information Officer, Methodist Healthcare]:

“It was a very spectacular blend of color, of music and obviously of the traditional folklore of the vast continent of China. But also representing the spirituality of the people. It was very, very entertaining and lively.”
