Is your teddy bear in need of a holiday? Well, now you can get your bear an all inclusive package to visit Prague. Let’s take a look at this new trend in Europe.
Already a popular tourist destination, the Czech Republic's historic capital is about to get a furrier sort of visitor.
It seems that every bear that ever there was is gathering in Prague for a holiday.
The idea to turn Prague into a bear's premier holiday destination comes from a local entrepreneur.
As his PR manager explains.
[Radek Sakac, PR Manager]:
"People just order a package of services on our web pages, then they send their teddy to us in Prague. We then arrange a nice fortnight's trip for them to the most beautiful parts of the city. Then we send them happily back with photos and other presents to their owners who will also surely be very happy."
The toy holidays will cost between 90 and 390 euros and will even include luxuries such as aroma therapy or a Thai massage.
[Tobias, Swiss Tourist]:
"I think it is the right of every toy to travel like this. I think it is good that you fight for something we always need for the society for better life of toys."
While the idea has attracted the financial backing of two of the country's leading investors to the tune of 24,000 euros, some people feel it is a Teddy treat too far.
[Jana, Prague Resident]:
"Would I pay for holidays for my teddy? Do you know someone who would pay for my travelling?"
The travel agency goes under the name of Toytravelling and won funding on the Czech version of the TV program Dragon's Den.
For the lucky toys who get a taste for independent travel the company is planning to expand business to include Bratislava, Berlin and Budapest.
