Surfer Michael Bedford was treated for deep wounds to his right knee on Monday after being knocked off his surfboard and bitten by a white pointer shark in Western Australia.
The attack happened on Sunday off of Western Australia's south coast.
Recovering in a hospital bed, Bedford said he was grateful fellow surfers and local fishermen came to his aid and helped him get to a hospital.
While lucky to be alive, Bedford was still shaken one day after the attack.

"It's surreal. It was just surreal! It just wasn't… I was seeing it. I found it, but I didn't believe it would happen that quickly."
Bedford says he won’t be going back in the water anytime soon.
