Ferrari has publicly unveiled the 458 Challenge at the Bologna Motor Show.
Built for the company's single-racing series, the Challenge features a race suspension (with solid aluminum bushings, stiffer springs, and single-rate dampers), Brembo CCM2 brakes (from the 599XX), and 19-inch wheels with Pirelli tires. Furthermore, to reduce weight, the car has been outfitted with thinner body panels, carbon fiber components, and Lexan windows.
Power is provided by a 4499cc V8 engine that produces 570 PS (562 hp / 419 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. While this is the same as the 458 Italia, engineers modified the dual-clutch gearbox and installed 'F1-Trac' (traction control) with settings for wet and dry conditions.
