Episode 6: Germany/Lette - Wanted: Country Doctor. Ever since the local doctor retired, the village of Lette in Westphalia has been frantically looking for a replacement. They're now resorting to desperate measures. The local butcher has promised free sausages, the local hairdresser has pledged a free haircut and the village florist has said she'll keep the practice supplied with fresh flowers. But despite these tempting offers, no doctor is willing to move to Lette. Home to a population of 2,250, the village is struggling with the same problem as many others in Germany: young, qualified doctors prefer to take jobs in the cities rather than out in the country, where the work is hard and often badly paid.
