Common Fashion Faux Pas for Women (Closet Organization) - as part of the Women's Style series by GeoBeats. Hi, I am Lori Ann Robinson, Image and Fashion Consultant with LAR Consultants. I think there are two main faux pas that most women are challenged with, and the first one is learning their body shape and adhering to their body shape. And choosing clothes that are going to accentuate and eliminate on their body shape. For instance, we are not all the way we were when we were 21, as much as we would like to think that. Things shift around on us, so you have to just really make sure you know your body shape. And I have got a few here to show you. These are your basic ladies shapes. And you need to embrace it! That is really hard for most women. To embrace your body's shape! Know what you need to do to accentuate. Know what you need to do to eliminate. If there are parts of your body you do not want draw attention to, you have to know how to camouflage. And that is really very difficult for most woment, to really grasp that idea of a body shape. The second thing is wearing the correct bra. Yes, wearing the correct bra, ladies, will make you look thinner, it will make you look younger. And I find, more and more, ladies are not wearing the correct bra. And that is one of the keys to successful dressing. A few other faux pas are playing up areas you should not be playing up. Sometimes you wake up in the morning and all of a sudden, what happened to your arms? They are not looking so great anymore! The tone is not there. You want to cover them up. You do not want to be out with a sleeveless dress or a top, letting them all hang out. Especially if you have those water wings. Or if those legs are not looking so great anymore? Something happened to those knees overnight? Well, do not wear a shorter skirt. Keep your skirt a little bit longer or at a more flattering length. Or do not wear a skirt at all! There is no one saying that you have to do that. Also, think about your coloring and wearing your correct colors. One of the most important things we can all do. And I see this all the time, women not wearing their correct colors! Major faux pas! Wearing your correct colors are going to make you look younger, more vibrant. You are going to look happy, you are going to look alive! Who does not want that? Wrong colors are going to make you look sad and sick, and just not as pretty as you should be looking if you are wearing your bright, good colors. And those are the major fashion faux pas I find women doing.
