Bristol jungle legend DJ Die has just unleashed his new ‘Gutterfunk’ label – a four-year project that has absorbed the latest bass mutations from the city’s underground.
Bristol has for years been a musical melting pot bubbling over with ideas.
If you were old, or lucky enough to witness a Wild Bunch set back in the early 80’s you would have been swept away on a sonic journey through a huge range of different genres.
Things have come round full circle once more and the current bass music climate sees DJs and producers taking influence from the past 20+ years of dance music history.
After four years in the making, Bristol’s own jungle legend DJ Die has decided that 2011 is the year to unleash his new ‘Gutterfunk’ label, an outlet for his non Drum N Bass productions as well as being a platform for the latest bass mutations coming out of the Bristol underground.
The release schedule for Gutterfunk includes hip-hop, electro and dubstep.
