Occupy protesters arrested in New York

Hundreds of anti-Wall Street protesters took to the New York streets on Saturday in an attempt to establish a new encampment, with a number arrested as they tried to move onto church-owned land.
The protesters had used a wooden ladder to climb over a chain-link fence into the lot owned by Trinity Church, an Occupy Wall Street spokesman said.
Police had no immediate figure on how many protesters were arrested, but one witness put the number at dozens.
The demonstrators later moved to a different area of lower Manhattan, saying they were headed to the house of the Trinity Church rector.
The Occupy movement, which says the U.S. economic system is unfair and favors a tiny rich minority, began three months ago in New York but was ultimately forced out of its main camp in the city.
