Election Commission's 'operation cover-up' of Mayawati statues divides many

Ever since the Election Commission ordered the statues of Mayawati and her party symbol, the elephants, to be covered up in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the polls, there's been a growing debate over whether the order makes any sense. The commission clearly feels it needs to be done to ensure a free and fair election while others say it's not practical.
