PRESENTED BY TOM MILLETT
The Kybosh are a Dublin-based four-piece band, who have been playing, gigging and writing songs in their current lineup since summer '05. They have been played on radio stations such as Phantom 105.2, Spin1038 and Raidió na Life, and have been covered in The Evening Herald.
Meet The Kybosh. Remember the name. Their songs are the musical equivalent to toffee; as distinctive and satisfying as you're going to get, as sticky and persistent as hell and always leaves you wanting more. Just the mention of the name makes you want some, and once you've had it, those hordes of identical penny sweet bands just don't seem to have the same bite any more.
Going since 2005, the band have enjoyed as much success on the Irish scene as any unsigned band could hope to; the dynamic between the four members clearly grabbing the audiences where they'll feel it, the blend of catchy rock melodies, jazzy chords, quirky beats and bluesy guitar sounds sticking to people's minds like wet toffee to a woollen jumper.
So get in there now! Don't jump on a bandwagon a few months down the line, or become one of those people who claims to have known every band before they took off. Mean it this time! Spread the word, tell everyone about Ireland's next heroes and, most of all, grin smugly at your superior sense of all things musical as the band you once championed make their way up to the very top.
