Ladies and germs allow me to introduce to you those behind the music of "West of Eden". In the right corner is Kenn Davis weighing in as a singer songwriter from Tinahely in county Wicklow. In the left is Dublin born singer, Cindy O' Keeffe. Originally having met in Ballyfermot's music college the duo have since been crafting a rather unique and interesting sound. Recently W. O. E's latest work has been attracting a considerable amount of attention. Their debut single "Everyday Thing" which was recorded and co-produced by Karl Odlum (The Frames, Kila, Fionn Regan, etc) will be hitting the shelves on the 10th of August. It has already drawn in the likes of TV3's "Ireland AM" who have invited the duo to perform live on their set in the coming weeks. East Coast Radio and Newstalk are also among the cast who will have the couple sharing their wares. The quirky bouncy arrangements and soul searching lyrics coupled with distinctive melodies and interweaving harmonies is what distinguishes West of Eden's sound. The 3 track single which features Bassist, Dave Flynn (Bass player for Paddy Casey) and drummer Mike Dowd of The Alphastates / Dave Couse, is like a refreshing appetiser to the main course that only leaves its audience wanting more. Notes of a Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young / Simon and Garfunkle style, together with a rich sense of a Paula Cole / Aimee Mann virtuosity derive from the contrasting backgrounds of Davis and O' Keeffe. Already W.O.E. have enjoyed much success in their musical career to date. Both O' Keeffe and Davis have already performed either as a duo or as a band in a host of venues around Dublin; e.g. Whelans, Temple Bar Music Centre, Eamon Dorans, The Cobblestone and The Voodoo Lounge, to name but a few.
