EIGHT rising Fingal bands are set to take to the stage in Portmarnock's Tamango's nightclub this Friday, June 26th, for an all-ages gig, with a number of familiar names on the bill. Blue Syndrome and Machine Gun Baby will be strutting their stuff, as will Malahide trio, The Chins, in what will be their biggest gig to date. Comprising of Eoin Walshe on lead vocals and guitar, bassist Alberto Canizares and Simon Connolly on drums, the band have been together a matter of weeks, but have big plans for the future. ' The band formed when Simon needed a band set up for his music practical for the Leaving Cert and called on our friend Alberto to play bass,' Eoin explained.

'That went well and by coincidence the same day of the practical, the school's 'battle of the bands' auditions were taking place, so we decided to audition together for the laugh and we got in.' The Chins are set to make inroads on the Dublin live scene this summer, with a variety of gigs and recording opportunities lined up - once they complete their exams, that is.
