Sony HDR-CX130 Review and Test Footage

Here is a review of the Sony Handycam HDR-CX130 AVCHD flash-card camcorder from 2011. It was one of the several low-end HD Handycams introduced this year. While it does great (for a low end camera), it suffers in low light and tends to lose quite a bit of quality when put through compression, which takes away points from its quality. It has great manual controls as well, but they are buried very deeply into the menus, so whenever I want to adjust the exposure or focus for the camera, I have to go through several menus, and it gets a bit aggravating after a while. The camera's price is between US$350 and $400, which for me is a tad too expensive. My final score for this is 3.5 stars out of 5. If you don't care about video quality, then I would recommend this and other camcorders in the low-end range, but if quality and features are your #1 concern, then I'd look in higher places.
