Sri Lanka official denies claims of army shelling - 13 May 09

As conflict continues to rage between Sri Lanka and the Tamil Tigers, Jaliya Wickramasuriya, the country's ambassador to the US, has said that the military is not shelling areas of the war zone populated by civilians.
He also says that aid is being brought in to help civilians.
