The launch team at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida conducted a tanking test for space shuttle Atlantis' external fuel tank on June 15.

The team filled the external tank with about 535,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen just like for a launch. They will then drain the tank.

Starting June 18, technicians will take hi-tech x-ray scans of the tank's support beams, called stringers, on the shuttle-facing side of the tank.
