Pro-Constitution and Gun Rally at Indiana State Capitol

A former Libertarian Senate candidate is helping to organize a protest to be held in Indianapolis this weekend. Andrew Horning, who ran against Democrat Joe Donnelly and Republican Richard Mourdock in November’s Indiana Senatorial election, is rallying support for a protest that will be held this Saturday from noon to 2 PM on the northwest corner of 38 Street and Fall Creek Parkway across from the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The protest is called “Back on the Leash!” and its focus is on reining in government that Horning and his allies say has now gone out of control with increasing debt, brutal mandates, out of control spending and higher taxes and subsidies. The event will coincide with the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife show that is being held at the South Pavilion of the Fairgrounds. A show that it is expected to draw large crowds with the upcoming likelihood of tighter gun control laws promised by Pres. Barack Obama.

Protest organizers point to the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution which states “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Organizers believe that many new laws and mandates violate the 10th Amendment and should therefore be deemed unconstitutional and that any law, program or agency that is in violation shall be deemed invalid.

Horning plans to be on hand at the event to help pass out information and hopes than enough people attend to make the event newsworthy to help further their cause.

More information can be found on the events Facebook page.
