PRESENTED BY RISHI MAJUMDER
Papaya Pyaara is an ancient folk narrative about two lovers, Beenjha and Sorath, sung here in the typical Rag Sorath by a group of kids from the Badnava village in Rajasthan. They belong to a community called the Langas, famous for their vocal virtuosity.
So strong is the lineage, that it is said that when a newborn Langa kid cries, he does so in tune.
Presented in association with the Jodhpur RIFF - http://jodhpurfolkfestival.org
An Oijo! Production
Sound: Kavi Bhansali/Raghav Suthaud
