MELANIE O'BRIEN - OUT OF MY MIND

Melanie O'Brien Hutton hails from Paradise, Newfoundland. She is a Sheridan College Music-Theatre performance honors graduate. While attending Sheridan, Melanie was awarded The Primetime Radio scholarship for her unique songwriting and performance abilities. Melanie was cast as the lead singer in Canada's Wonderland's first production of, "School of Rock" in Toronto. She was awarded Music Newfoundland's New Talent Demo Grant and was chosen to showcase her original material at Music Newfoundland's 2007 conference. She then starred in the Spirit of Newfoundland's, "when Larry met Sally," and "Miracle on George Street." Melanie was also a featured performer in the "Drawn to the Rhythm"- a Sarah Mclachlan Tribute," "Let's Rock Poverty," "Sondheim by the Sea," and the 2008 Women in country music Autism Fundraiser. Melanie played Magenta in "The Rocky Horror show" and the White Queen in "Alice and Wonderland" with Tada productions and was a featured soloist in "Our Divas do Christmas on Broadway 2009." Melanie was most recently seen on CBC's "Republic of Doyle" and regular performs her original music in the local St. John's music scene. She is a voice instructor, singer/songwriter and actress and loves working in the arts community in Newfoundland.
