Maoist protesters clash with riot police in Nepal

STORY: Just two days after the swearing in of Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi as Prime Minister, the Baidya faction of the divided Maoist Party held a protest rally in Kathmandu on Saturday burning the effigies of Nepal's president and the newly appointed prime minister.

Members of the the Baidya faction of the Maoist Party have been protesting outside the Presidential Palace since Regmi was sworn in as prime minister on March 14.

Chief Justice Regmi was sworn in by the president as the head of an interim government with a mandate to hold elections by June 21.
