If you happen to be a male singer-songwriter, then you will surely hate Kim Churchill. Why you ask? No reason... Other than the fact that this charming and perfectly-scruffed globe-trotting Aussie has the voice of an angel and plays the guitar in some sort of masterfully finger-picked way that my eyes have never seen and he just happens to be the friendliest guy in the world who surfs every day and destroys all other men's chances of ever impressing a woman with his songs!!!!! GAAAAAASSSSP.

Seriously, nicest Aussie ever (ev-aah as they may pronounce back in Aus), and that's saying something! Meeting and listening to Kim was truly a pleasure, and that term is thrown around far too liberally. As I went to greet him at the foot of the apartment building, I was met by a sincere and friendly dude who politely entered the apartment before blowing our proverbial socks off with a performance of his song 'Smile As He Goes Home.' Kim played the Open Sky Music Festival amidst his sixth (yes, sixth) tour across Canada, this time in support of his new album 'Detail of Distance,' which is worth getting right now. NOW!
