Anti-blogger protesters converge on Bangladesh

Conservative Muslim groups in Bangladesh have been converging on the capital of Dhaka to demand more action against bloggers. Weeks of anti-government protests have put pro-Islam parties on the defensive; writers have been accused of fuelling the unrest which is rooted in Bangladesh's battle for independence in which three million were killed and thousands of women were raped. Leaders of the powerful opposition group Jamaat-e-Islami have started facing charges for those crimes - one of them, Abdul Quader Mollah has been sentenced to life in prison. Almost immediately, bloggers and online activists protested against the verdict and demanded he be given the death sentence. Since then, Jamaat-e-Islami have held their own rallies calling for harsher sentences for what they call 'anti-Islam bloggers'. Al Jazeera reports from Dhaka.
