With shimmering vocals and a tasteful blend of Neo-soul, R&B and funk, singer-songwriter Amira B soaks up the beauty all around us into a head-turning, soul-lifting music.

A true New Yorker with unique Russian-Egyptian roots, Amira B began studying classical piano at the age of 4. At 7, her family moved to NYC from Volgograd, Russia, where she continued to study classical piano, but decided to switch gears when she attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School for voice. Influenced by R&B, jazz, soul, and the beat of the city, which all can be heard in her own music, she began performing her original songs for larger audiences by 14 and later pursued a dual degree in Music Business and songwriting at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music.

After winning Songathon in May 2019, Amira released 4 back-to-back singles off her upcoming EP ‘Do You,’ co-written with producer CARRTOONS. Her single “Day By Day” landed on Spotify Editorial Playlist Fresh Finds: The Wave, charted on Hype Machine, gained support from notable publications such as EARMILK, The Word is Bond, Hip Hop Magz, Lefuturewave & many more, and caught the attention of major national touring acts like The Main Squeeze. Eventually, Amira was invited to perform with The Main Squeeze at their sold out Brooklyn Bowl show in November 2019.

“Away,” is a melancholy R&B-tinged Neo-soul tune that elegantly puts to words our collective need to escape from these trying times. Expressing the uncertainty that we’re all feeling, Amira B elegantly showcases the angst of this moment in a beautiful and soulful way.
