For Chuck Schmalzried, a home-builder from Michigan, the legacy he has built in the industry is built on the hard work and dedication he has shown. His passion for building and serving his customers has led him to become the co-owner of Michelle Construction. Chuck and his partner, Michelle, have been acknowledged for their years of success and are known for their impeccable craftsmanship. Their homes are designed to be timeless and beautiful.
During his high school years, Chuck started his career in construction. He was able to learn from his father and a skilled carpenter, and he was initially unaware of how much he would benefit from his newfound skill. After graduating high school, Chuck initially thought about going to college. However, he soon realized that his calling was taking him far beyond his comfort zone. He eventually joined the Air Force.
From 1986 to 1992, Chuck served in the Air Force during Operation Desert Storm. Although he was not aware of it at the time, his time in the military had prepared him for his future career in home construction. Following his discharge, he settled in Ohio and became a member of the Ohio National Guard. He started working odd jobs in construction before he became a part of his father's company, Schmalzried Custom Homes, in 1998. After the business closed its doors, he became a part of Michelle's team.
Aside from his work as a construction professional, Chuck is also passionate about sharing the stories of the men and women who are serving in the military. He is dedicated to raising awareness about the sacrifices that these individuals make for the freedom of this country.
