I am a former Staff Writer for Seventh Native American Generation (SNAG) Magazine. My publications include; Red Ink Magazine, SNAG Magazine, YouthOutlook, New America Media, IMDiversity, Pacific News Service, The San Francisco Gate, Visions for the Future: A Celebration of Young Native American Artists, The Cafe Cultura Collective Compilation, Powwows.com,the Empowerment Saga Series, etc.

I served 4 years as a Commissioner on the Denver American Indian Commision for the Denver Mayor's Office of Human Rights and Community Partnerships. I am a Graduate Fellow of the First Nations Development Institute LEAD Fellowship for Native American nonprofit leadership. I am a Graduate Fellow of the Center for Progressive Leadership political leaders fellowship. I served as a fully credentialed Delegate, through the Fourth World Center for the Study of Indigenous Law and Politics, to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

My father, Harry Barkhausen, Jr., trained me as an Artist from childhood. I have a BA in Interactive Media Design. I have 20 years of experience as a Creative Professional. I have a Masters in Political Science. I studied US Federal American Indian Law while serving as a Legal Research Assistant on a Native American treaty interpretation project. I studied; American Politics, International Law and Relations, National Question and Self-Determination, State of the Discipline, Race, Class, and Gender, Indigenous Politics and Political Systems.

I am the Owner and Creative Director of the indigenous-owned small business Fourth World Creative. Each year we design and print the shirts for the All West Native American Basketball Classic. 20 percent of all our sales is donated to the All West Native American Youth Association.
