'Brazil' video credits:
Directed by: Katherine Mager and Luke Abbott
Cinematography: Katherine Mager
Editing and post-production: Luke Abbott
Text: Sam Riviere
'Brazil' is the exceedingly moreish final single to be plucked from Luke Abbott's rave peer reviewed 'Holkham Drones' debut album, slated for release this November with a sterling video and remix package that includes Gold Panda and Etienne Jaumet.
But the cherry on top of this musical cupcake is a suitably-lyrical collaborative video made by Luke's artist-photographer girlfriend Katherine Mager and featuring superimposed subtitle text by acclaimed young British poet Sam Riviere. Filmed in Norfolk, Norwich, Brighton and London, the video captures snapshots of the British seaside – dare we call it Norfolk-ana? - in its “attempt to investigate the invisible connections between people and objects.” The combination of words and subtle movement is perfectly paced, making for a viewing experience that is strangely uplifting, and repeatedly rewarding.
