Sound of Boot is a 2008 malayalam psychological thriller film by Shaji Kailas starring Suresh Gopi, Bala, Honey Rose, Krishna Kumar, Lakshana and Murali. The movie, which is basically, dubbed as an investigative thriller, is shot like a psychological thriller. It is story is highly based on Rashomon Effect. Even its plot is similar to Akira Kurosawa's all time classic Rashomon.

Holiday Home is a tourist resort in the high ranges of Kerala. It is frequented by tourists and by newly married couples who come to honeymoon here. Sankaranarayanan (Murali) is the care taker of the Holiday Home. Rahul Krishna (Bala) comes to Holiday Home with Meera Nambiar (Honey Rose).

The next day Meera Nambiar is found murdered. SP Siddharth Mahadev (Suresh Gopi) comes for the investigation. Everyone who is involved with the crime gives a different story to the SP. In the meantime, two Police men were also murdered. The rest of the film is how he resolves this problem and find out the real culprit.

'The Rashomon effect' is a term used to describe the circumstance when the same event is given contradictory interpretations by different individuals involved. The term derives from Akira Kurosawa's 1950 film Rashomon, in which a murder involving four individuals (suspects, witnesses, and surviving victims) is described in four mutually contradictory ways. More broadly, the term addresses the motivations, mechanism, and occurrences of the reporting on the circumstance, and so addresses contested interpretations of events, the existence of disagreements regarding the evidence of events, and the subjects of subjectivity versus objectivity in human perception, memory, and reporting.
