00:00Welcome to English practice stories.
00:08Hello, my dear friends. How are you?
00:12Let's start the story.
00:14As soon as I saw him, I swiped right without hesitation.
00:20He was young, and everything about him looked perfect.
00:26We were both in our early thirties, and when I discovered that we were a match, I was ecstatic.
00:35Me and Chris started talking over the phone, and he lived in the next state over.
00:43We both planned on meeting each other in person.
00:48When I saw Chris in person that day, I knew this was the man I was going to love forever.
00:56Being with him made me feel like I was part of something bigger than myself.
01:03I loved everything about him, his smile, his physique, his eyes, and most of all, his personality.
01:14I moved in with him that same exact day, and we made love on our first night together.
01:22A year later, I noticed changes in my health.
01:27I took a pregnancy test, and I tested positive.
01:33I didn't know how Chris would react, but he seemed really excited about having a child.
01:41My parents scolded me for getting pregnant before me and Chris's marriage,
01:48but we ended up having a gender reveal party and found out we were having a baby boy.
01:55It's been about three and a half years since we met on Tinder,
02:01and our son, Tyler, is now a year and a half old.
02:07Chris proposed to me six months ago, and our wedding day is in two weeks.
02:14I just wish I had never found out about his secret hobby.
02:20For the last two years, people in our town have been mysteriously disappearing,
02:28with the majority being women.
02:31He left almost zero trace of what he was doing.
02:36He was so good at hiding it.
02:39The one thing I found suspicious was that every night, after we'd put our son to bed,
02:47he would always give me a glass of water before bed.

03:03My entire life, I've had sleeping issues.
03:08Some nights I wouldn't even sleep at all, but ever since I moved in with Chris,
03:15I've been sleeping perfectly, sometimes even 13 to 14 hours of sleep a night.
03:24It was when I became suspicious that I walked in on Chris sharpening that giant axe.
03:31I never really bothered Chris while he was working in the basement on his tools.
03:38I went down the stairs and saw the axe.
03:42The handle had to be at least five feet long, and he was sharpening the shit out of that blade.
03:50He works as an electrician, and as far as I know, they don't carry an axe that big with them.
03:59He didn't hear or see me, so I rushed back upstairs.
04:05After we put our son to bed that night, when he offered me the water,
04:11I held it in my mouth, then ran to the sink to spit it out.
04:17I noticed that I wasn't able to fall asleep at all.
04:21I laid there pretending to sleep, and after about two hours, my husband got out of bed.
04:29I saw the hall light turn on, and the basement door creaked open.
04:36It was extremely hard to see what was happening, but I did see that axe blade.
04:43I then heard the back door open.
04:47I rushed to look out the bathroom window,
04:51and I could see him going down to that old storm cellar in the corner of the yard.
04:58I never asked about the storm cellar.
05:02He said it's been there since he bought the house.
05:06He then unlocked the door and walked down its stairs.
05:11He slammed the door behind him.
05:14I then ran out the back door and put my ear up to the storm cellar.
05:20I could hear a voice, a woman's voice.
05:25The voice was weeping and begging.
05:29I sharpened my axe for you.
05:32I heard Chris yell in a sinister voice.
05:36The woman then screamed at the top of her lungs, and Chris started laughing.
05:43I unlatched the door and sprinted down those stairs.
05:48In front of me was a room that had walls stained red.
05:54Chris had his back toward me and had that axe in his hands, dripping with blood.
06:01The woman in front of him had a river of blood pouring out of what was left of her mangled arm.
06:10Chris, I said in a horrified voice.
06:15Chris then turned to me with blood in his smile.
06:20I think it's about time you found out, he said.
06:24I started vomiting.
06:27I couldn't even see straight.
06:30How could someone be so evil?
06:33I thought.
06:35I started screaming curse words in his direction.
06:40He then grabbed me by my shoulders.
06:43Don't be like that, he said while trying to calm me down.
06:48He then handed me the axe.
06:51Why don't you help me finish her off?
06:54He said, gesturing toward the dying woman.
06:59She looked to be about my age.
07:02She looked at me with desperation in her eyes.
07:06Finish her.
07:08Aim for the head, Chris told me.
07:12She started sobbing to the point where I could barely hear Chris.
07:18Finish her.
07:20Chris screamed.
07:22That night was the worst night of my life, but I believe that I did the right thing.
07:30I did what I did for Chris, and I love him.
07:34Now I've got a wedding to prepare for.
07:37I wish for happiness in your family.
